As a key member of our Applied AI team, you will play a critical role in developing technologies and products that leverage Artificial Intelligence to provide discriminating signal processing capabilities to our customers. The GE Aerospace Engineering Team is looking for experienced mechanical designengineers who are ready to work on the fastest growing engine in Aviation history, GE9X. Within the Lifecycle Engineering team, as the GE9X Combustor LeadEngineer, you work within the combustor module to work design changes to reduce cost, improve producibility and support repair development for the module. At this key pre-Entry into Service (EIS) phase of the GE9X program, you will play a critical role in preparing the team to identify cost, producibility and repair ideas, oversee projects for the module, while also leading and executing on cost and producibility out design changes to implement before EIS and beyond.
As a GE9X Combustor Module LeadEngineer, the role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an GE9X combustor module covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
* Support all design, procurement, producibility and delivery activities for GE9X combustor module parts, enabling problem solving across additive part within the engine line.
* Conceptual or theoretical activities related to the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Includes the analysis of static (structural) and dynamic (rotordynamics, vibrations) behaviour of mechanical systems
* Support plans for the Combustor module focused on design changes, ensuring plans are in place, executed per plan and problem solved when pressures are realized.
* Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
* Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
* Develop in-depth knowledge of the technical discipline
* Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
* Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
* Participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant engineering roles, including mechanical designengineering.
