Basic Qualifications
10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
10+ years of tax experience with a significant amount of time providing technical guidance experience
5+ years of managing a high caliber team experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
10+ years progressive experience in the area of Real and Personal property tax valuation and compliance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within a multinational business and either legal or accountancy firm experience
Experience liaising with tax authorities including responding to audits and information requests
Experience communicating to senior management and customers verbally and in writing
Can work proactively and independently, meet deadlines, and deliver on projects and tasks

Prepare the transfer pricing adjustments and support consultants with local file preparation for parent company in Japan.
Prepare proforma federal and state tax returns for final intercompany tax allocations.
Represent company in tax audits and manage tax notices.
Provide technical guidance and training to tax team members on tax provision and compliance.
Develop best practices and processes for tax department to ensure project completion effectively and efficiently.
Conduct technical research and provide recommendation on tax issues.
Assist Senior Tax Director with various tax projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Taxation. Master of Science in Taxation and CPA certification preferred.
Progressive corporate tax experience in multinational consolidated tax compliance and financial reporting. A combination of Big 4 public accounting and large multinational corporation tax department experience is preferred.
Excellent working knowledge of Thomson Reuters OneSource corporate tax software and Microsoft Office application, particularly Excel.
Up to date knowledge on tax law changes per the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, CARES Act and Inflation Reduction Act.
Strong understanding of multinational and multi-state corporate tax laws.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to specific business situations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Position requires CPA license with 5 years of experience working at a Big 4 Public Accounting Firm, will also accept experience at Grant Thornton or Plante Moran.
We are looking for a resourceful, enthusiastic, and disciplined technical advisor to complement our financial reporting function. This advisor will help lead the team responsible for the preparation of SEC filings. This sharp-minded individual will also be responsible for technical accounting research and staying up-to-date on new accounting guidance and pronouncements. The position reports to the Senior Manager of SEC Reporting and Consolidations.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for the accounting, reporting, and any technical research with respect to pensions, derivatives, and other technical topics.
• Assist in the oversight of SEC filing preparation and reporting to other government agencies
• Assist with the quarterly earnings release process including preparing all the materials
• Stay up-to-date on new accounting guidance and help assess the impact on the business and reporting environment
• Research the accounting for unique transactions
• Lead special projects and perform ad-hoc analysis as required
• Train and develop team members
Requirements
• 5+ years of public accounting experience at a big 4 firm
• BS/BA and/or Masters in Accounting
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting and/or financial reporting experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to independently research complex accounting topics
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks or assignments and consistently meet or exceed deadlines
• Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail

Job Summary:
Perform accounting, analysis and reporting for capital projects and fixed assets of NRG Inc and its affiliates.
Essential Duties:
Perform the accounting, processing, and analysis of fixed assets.
Perform fixed asset accounting functions necessary to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month end close. Duties will include calculation of monthly Capitalized Interest and depreciation, capitalization of CIP projects, preparation of necessary journal entries and posting thereof in the accounting system.
Record and maintain records of fixed assets, including additions, retirements, and transfers.
Reconcile fixed asset accounts to general ledger on a monthly basis.
Support the Corporate Tax group with the annual property tax filings.
Liaison with plants, accounting and other groups to facilitate CIP reviews and month end close tasks.
Assist with external and internal audit requests.
Report monthly variance on capital expenditures to FP&A and Operations group.
Prepare depreciation forecast for NRG and its affiliates.
Provide assistance with special projects as necessary.
Working Conditions:
Open office environment
Position is designated as hybrid, meaning 3 days per week in the office, two days per week remote. Hybrid schedule determined by management.
Some overtime may be required during close cycle and for special projects.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Two to three years of experience in general accounting and finance.

The base salary range for this position is: $*62,960-103,920 *The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
