Usually, locksmiths don't need a college education. The most common degree for locksmiths is high school diploma with 39% graduates, with only 20% locksmith graduates earning associate degree. Locksmiths who decided to graduate from college often finish Brigham Young University or University of Phoenix. Some good skills to have in this position include hand tools, door locks and door hardware.
