Logan University company history timeline

1935

The college was named after its founder and first president, Hugh B. Logan, D.C. The first class of seven men and women enrolled on September 1, 1935.

Since 1935, Logan has remained grounded in chiropractic education, while continuously enriching academic options with degree offerings in health sciences.

1936

After five more students joined in February 1936, the college moved to a 17-acre (6.88 ha) estate at 7701 Florissant Road in Normandy. a suburb of St Louis that November.

By October 1936, Logan had outgrown the Lindell campus and moves to a 17-acre estate on November 6 at 7701 Florissant Road in Normandy, Mo.

1944

Doctor H.B. Logan (pictured above) serves as the College’s first president until 1944.

In 1944, Doctor H. B. Logan passes away suddenly and his son, Doctor Vinton F. Logan (pictured above), becomes the College’s second president.

1961

In July 1961, Doctor Vinton Logan passes away and Doctor William Coggins (pictured above), previously Logan’s Dean, becomes the College’s third President.

1964

In 1964, Missouri Chiropractic College also merged with Logan Basic College of Chiropractic with the name then changing to Logan College of Chiropractic.

1972

In 1972, Logan acquired the buildings and grounds of the former Maryknoll Seminary in Chesterfield, Missouri.

1982

Doctor Goodman had more than 20 years of experience as a Doctor of Chiropractic and educator and had been Logan’s Vice President of Chiropractic Affairs since 1982.

1986

In June 1986, groundbreaking begins for a second building on the campus, the Science and Research Center.

1987

The 30,000-square foot building opens in October 1987.

1997

Doctor McDonald earned his Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from St Ambrose University in 1997.

2007

In April 2007, the 47,000-square foot William D. Purser DC Center opens.

2008

The $3.6 million, privately-funded project is completed in June 2008.

2010

Logan celebrates its 75th Anniversary and breaks ground in November 2010 for a new $4.9 million, three-story Educational Wing.

2013

The institution changed its name to Logan University in 2013–14.

2022
