What is a logistic assistant and how to become one

Logistics Assistants deals with shipping and receiving stock. They ensure that all received shipments are accurate and of high quality. The logistics assistant stock shipments in the warehouse and files the necessary documents. He/She prepares and packs outgoing shipments, monitors them, and ensures timely delivery. He/She also ensures there is an adequate supply of shipping materials. Thus, he/she manages the inventory of supplies and restocks as needed. Also, he/she records and reports breakages, major spills, and contaminations to the Warehouse Manager.

Logistics Assistants must have a minimum of a High school diploma or its equivalent and prior experience in a related role. You must possess communication, organization, and teamwork skills. You must be conversant with shipping processes and metrics. Also, you must know the appropriate procedures for handling stock, especially fragile stock. This job requires the ability to memorize vast amounts of information for later use. A Logistics Assistant earns an average annual salary of $35,068.
