What a typical day looks like:
Computes material requirements for job orders and manages requisitioning and delivery schedules to optimize inventory.
Examines and verifies that materials delivered conform to specifications before distribution to production departments.
Maintains accurate manual and computerized inventory records, including status and location of materials.
Creates, updates, and analyzes various reports to support data-driven decision-making and action plans.
Administers inventory cycle count programs, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate inventory levels.
Conducts internal and external transfers of materials to support production schedules and maintain stock levels.
Investigates unusual material usage and suggests corrective actions to resolve inventory issues.
Verifies accuracy of material kits against pick lists and tracks defect levels to enhance quality performance.

The Role:
The Procurement & Logistics Coordinator supports our Design Services team by managing all aspects of purchasing, vendor coordination, and logistics for multiple client projects. This role ensures that every product arrives on time, in excellent condition, and ready for installation. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, proactive communication with vendors, and strong project management skills to keep projects on time and on budget. Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee the full procurement lifecycle for assigned design projects, including sourcing, purchase order creation, vendor communication, and delivery coordination
Process and manage purchase orders with accuracy, ensuring adherence to project budgets and timelines
Maintain clear documentation for all purchases, including invoices, tracking information, and vendor correspondence
Collaborate closely with designers and client service team to ensure orders align with project budgets, timelines, and specifications
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and service
Communicate regularly with vendors regarding lead times, backorders, and production updates
Oversee all inbound logistics, tracking orders from purchase to delivery, and proactively manage any delays, damages, or discrepancies
Coordinate with white-glove delivery teams and warehouses for installations, client deliveries, and product storage
Identifyand qualify new vendors as needed to support project demands and Studio McGee standards

* Serves as a Material Management Branch Chief and represents DLA as an Aviation supply chain manager at a DLA Aviation industrial site.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
* Performing administrative/analytical supply work involving inventory management, storage and distribution of essential items.

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace. All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty. DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing.
