We are currently looking for a Logistics Associate Intern for either the Spring or Summer '19 semesters to work out of our Chicago Merchandise Mart Showroom. Responsibilities of this role will include: Entering accurate SKU records for entire merchandise offering, (both manufacturer and B&G) in two distinct databases, our e-commerce platform, and our buying teams master Excel file Maintaining & updating wholesale, trade and retail prices across databases, the master Excel file and tear sheets as required Processing customer orders, including raising Purchase Orders to manufacturers/vendors & following up to confirm receipt Using freight portals to secure shipping quotes and scheduling customer deliveries with the most cost-effective and reputable option and in partnership with customer availability Securing Bill of Lading's and providing those to manufacturers & vendors to release customer orders Update customers on delivery status, responding to assigned support tickets Coordinating discounts and replacements for customers who receive damaged deliveries and filing the appropriate claims with transportation companies or manufacturers/vendors Support the business affairs team in approving invoice payments by accurately checking purchase order reports and matching incoming invoices for payment This role will be responsible for orders generated from our Chicago showroom, in addition to our online web store and New York City retail store. Requirements: Proven analytical and interpersonal skills Engaging and welcoming personality, strong work ethic, and professional demeanor Excellent verbal communication and phone etiquette Exceptional eye to detail, and the ability to drive results Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, etc. Ability to quickly and thoroughly learn product information Ability to take ownership and responsibility for all assigned tasks and fulfill them quickly and accurately Ability to work with team members from all company departments THIS IS AN UNPAID INTERNSHIP, However lunch will be provided daily and reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses.
