A logistics management specialist provides logistical support for their organization, ensuring that all related operations are on track. They manage the entire life cycle of a product, including the acquisition, distribution, allocation, and delivery. They should have the ability to understand the different functions of planning, implementation, and integration.

The most important ability is to be able to integrate the separate functions in planning or implementation in a logistics management program. Their key responsibilities include developing, analyzing, and executing logistical plans, support and documentation.

Additionally, they also assess ordering, tracking, delivery dates, and shipping requirements for on-time deliveries, determine technical needs and certifications and communicate to enable on-time execution of tasks.

Educational requirements include a bachelor's degree in logistics or a related field to be eligible to work. Programs such as supply chain management, logistics management can also suffice. These usually take up to four years to complete.
