The service member must be within the last 12 months of their active-duty contract.** **This is an unpaid, non-benefit eligible internship position in partnership with the DoD SkillBridge program.** **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** - Lead with a safety mindset that ensures that every US Foods associate remains injury free, always. Champion safety procedures, processes and training to create and maintain a safety-first culture in the warehouse. - Oversee and develop warehouse associates through one-on-one coaching, training on policy and procedures, assisting in problem resolution when required, and leading by example. Discuss associate performance with Sr. Warehouse Managers and create plans to address gaps. - Create a cohesive organization by keeping lines of communication open and directing workforce to ensure efficient workflow. - Direct and supervise the work and productivity of associates within the warehouse department. Drive associate engagement and retention, and create a culture that embodies US Foods values. - Participate in building high-performing teams by interviewing and hiring warehouse personnel, in conjunction with Sr. Warehouse Managers. Review performance, coach on productivity and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action. - Lead and direct associates to achieve accurate orders that are then staged and loaded on the trucks. Oversee the preparation of the warehouse for shipping or receiving on the next shift. - Monitor operational information, such as "mis-picks" and productivity reports, to ensure the entire shift meets rates and follows preferred methods. Take action through coaching and counseling to correct behaviors. - On day shift, designate dock locations for inbound carriers. Ensure product is stocked in appropriate location in accordance with food safety and FIFO processes & procedures. Monitor replenishment activity to ensure stock is available for the shipping shift and to minimize the potential for "shorts". Oversee will call. - Maintain physical condition and safety of warehouse and equipment, including preparing work orders for repairs and requisitions for equipment. - Work with operations management team to identify sources of inventory shrink and assist in development of an action plan. Analyze the current operations and make recommendations to improve on expense and cost control. - Regularly inspect facility for safety hazards and either resolve them or report them to the safety manager as appropriate. Invoice Review Verification of Invoice Details: Ensure all invoices contain accurate information, such as vendor name, invoice number, invoice date, purchase order (PO) number (if applicable), and payment terms. Accuracy of Amounts: Check for the correct calculation of charges, including subtotal, taxes, and total amount due. Compliance Checks: Verify that invoices comply with company policies and procedures, including vendor setup and adherence to payment terms. Inventory Control Manage cycle count programs and physical inventory events. Analyze root cause of count variances and develop and implement corrective actions. Manage and resolve slow moving/inactive inventory and develop plans to avoid write-offs Administration Leveraging Dayforce (HRIS) manage and ensure employees are compliant with attendance, vacation, FMLA, vacation coverage and labor time clocks; provide timely approvals Conduct periodic employee target and objective setting and performance evaluations with supervisors and team members. Manage employee performance and discipline while managing company risk and liabilities Other Acts as the key point of contact for all strategic Supply Chain initiatives Understand site P&L and drivers for performance Set the tone for the department culture, with emphasis on Safety, Quality, Profitability, and People Development. Attract, retain and develop key talent within the site. Qualifications & Experience BS/BA Supply Chain Management, required. Minimum of 10 years' experience in a Materials Management/Supply Chain, 5 years in a management role. Strong SAP system experience and usage to drive results. Proven track record of project management skills Strong knowledge of supply chain concepts/process and ability to apply them Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various reports and documents.
