Key Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Operation & Material Handling
• Operate forklifts (RTFLs and telehandlers) to transport steel members, tools, and rigging across job sites.
• Safely load/unload trucks and ensure material staging aligns with erection sequences.
• Work closely with riggers, ironworkers, and site leadership to time deliveries and placements efficiently.
2. Safety and Compliance
• Conduct daily pre-use inspections and maintain accurate forklift logs.
• Follow Sure Steel and OSHA safety procedures at all times.
• Secure loads properly and avoid obstructions or unsafe terrain during operation.
3. Equipment Stewardship
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and communicate repair needs promptly.
• Assist mechanics or site personnel in minor maintenance or adjustments.
• Ensure all materials are handled with care to avoid damage or job delays.
4. Site Support
• Support setup and breakdown of laydown yards, equipment storage, and temporary fencing.
• Assist in maintaining organized and clean jobsite logistics areas.
• Serve as a secondary signalperson or labor support when needed.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a construction or steel environment.
• Current forklift certification (RTFL/telehandler).
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs., operate in varying weather, and work long hours as required.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

The Operator performs specified tasks at the facility to meet safety, quality, and efficiency goals while staying in compliance with the policies and procedures of Tactical Cleaning. Safely executes loading and unloading between truck, rail, and storage of various commodities, which may include, not limited to a variety of bulk liquids and dry products and chemicals at an assigned facility.

DUTIES:

Start, stop, and operate engines/pumps within defined operating parameters.

Complete checklists as required.
Maintain clear communication with fellow co-workers and management.
Dispose of materials properly according to EPA requirements.
Ensure that permits, pictures, QAQC and all railcar documentation is completed and distributed to all necessary parties.
Adhere to production schedules and maintaining regular attendance as required by a predetermined work schedule.
Assist management with supplying information for daily reports and all necessary operational documents in an accurate and timely manner.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to climb ladders, tolerate confined spaces and heights, bend, stoop, stretch, lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs overhead on a consistent basis. This includes working safely around heavy equipment and on top of, under and inside railcars, and railroad tracks.
Ability and willingness to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
Willingness and ability to wear safety equipment such as, but not limited to, respirators, safety shoes eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, hard hats, and a variety of protective suits.
Ability to operate a computer to perform daily work activities, with an understanding of basic computer software (MS Word, MS Excel).
Ability and willingness to be trained on Hazwoper courses, Confined Spacing, First-Aid, Hazardous Materials, and other required safety and/or OSHA training.
Knowledge of equipment and tools required to perform safe entry for cleaning (Familiarity with Sandblasting / Power Washing equipment).
Ability to follow oral or written instructions.
Have vision correctable to 20/20 for inspection activities.
Ability to pass a company required physical examination and drug and alcohol screen.
Ability to pass a company required respiratory wellness test and respirator fit test.

Availability to work overtime hours.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Collects sewage and sludge samples for laboratory tests and analysis.
* Conducts tests on wastewater and sludge including biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), dissolved oxygen, temperature, pH, suspended, dissolved and total solids, Chemical Oxygen Demand, TKN, nitrates, fecal coliform, calibration of dissolved oxygen and pH meters and other tests deemed necessary by the Wastewater Superintendent to maintain operational compliance.

* Inspects, maintains, and operates treatment facility machinery and equipment such as pumps, bar-screen, vacuums, aerators, compressors, motors, tractors, loaders, rotating bridges, composting equipment, and the belt press as assigned by the Wastewater Superintendent.

* Maintains a daily log of operations; reading gauges, observing flow, and recording the information.
* Inspects, maintains and operates laboratory facility machinery and equipment.
* Maintains WWTP landscaping, farm crops, and farm operations.
* Performs or delegates custodial work such as sweeping, mopping and scrubbing to keep buildings and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
* Participates in the training of new operators in wastewater division under direction of Wastewater Superintendent.
* Attends short schools, training programs and seminars that will enhance ones knowledge of the safety, maintenance and operation of the WWTP and collection system as assigned by the Wastewater Superintendent.
* Maintains and performs a workable preventive maintenance program on all plant equipment, buildings, grounds and implements.
* Excavates with backhoe, bobcat, shovels, picks and other hand tools around sewer lines in order to expose problem areas. These areas may consist of exposing gas, water, electrical, cable and fiber optic lines prior to finding the city sewer line.
* Provides both written and oral reports to the Wastewater Superintendent.
* Directs daily activities of employees in the construction, maintenance and repair of the wastewater collection system and the treatment facility as assigned by the Superintendent or higher level Operator.
* Assist in the preparation of an annual budget for the wastewater division.
* Keeps current and up-to-date records on all O & M manuals for the wastewater division.
* Maintains orders and picks up spare parts, chemical inventories, supplies and materials needed for repair, maintenance and compliance of the wastewater division.

Minimum Qualifications:
