Description:
Under the Supervision of the Warehouse Manager, and as a member of the operations team, you will operate industrial cutting equipment (saws) to cut metal materials as requested and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned. Receive incoming inventory and package products for shipment to ensure error-free packaging, efficient loading, unloading, and departure of trucks, and accurate product inventory. Verify and keep records on scrap and incoming and outgoing inventory. This position is classified as a Safety Sensitive Position due to the work environment and equipment trained and used by staff. Regularly scheduled Mon-Thursday 2:00 PM to 12;30 AM [10-hour shifts], but training schedule will be Mon-Thursday 7:30AM - 4PM, Fri 5:30-2:00PM.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate industrial cutting equipment (saw and/or lathe) to cut materials as requested and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned Unload incoming trucks and move products to proper staging areas using a forklift, pallet jack or crane.
Receive incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase orders, invoices, or other documents to verify accuracy of shipment.
Prepare orders for shipment by retrieving inventory and packaging appropriately for damage free delivery. Use of company.
Maintain a neat and clean work area by sweeping floors, disposing of cardboard, banding, or packing materials, and removing debris.
Perform related duties as requested to meet department and or business objectives.
After training, use equipment to accurately measure materials, color code, catalog, log inventory, and put product away.
With training may operate industrial cutting equipment to cut materials as requested and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
After training, and as necessary, move delivery trucks within the yard and/or operate a Non-CDL F450 truck for delivery, to meet production needs.
After training, implement facility closure tasks at end of identified shift.
Regular and reliable on-site attendance is a requirement of employment.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
High School Diploma or High School Equivalent strongly preferred.
Mathematical ability to sort, check, count, measure, and verify numbers and or product shipped or received.
Demonstrated computer skills in the use of company ERP System as required.
Ability to operate material handling equipment after training.
Ability to read and write.
Good communication skills.
Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork, perform math calculations and perform computer data entry.
Valid NY State Class B driver's license and/or CDL endorsement a plus, for back-up driving.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Accurately read calipers and measuring instruments determine inventory amounts and customer requirements. With training ability to cutting machinery (saw and/or lathe).
Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment including safety shoes, gloves, and safety glasses when performing certain job duties.
Eligible staff with NYS CDL or Class B license and training may drive company commercial vehicles.
MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS
Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine operations, setups, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation.
May be required to operate equipment in congested areas involving considerable variety of movement.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate pay loader and forklifts.
Move rail cars into and out of building following established procedures and performing required checks when doing so.
Install transition chutes and open rail cars involving heavy lifting up to 100 lbs.
Clean out empty railcars using supplied tools.
Clean up sugar spills that occur during performance of their job.
Maintain cleanliness of bulk dock and 3rd floor sugar processing area.
Inspect magnets and sifters daily.
Be vigilant for any product contamination and report any contamination or otherwise dangerous issues to shift supervisor or management.

Hourly rate $18.50 - $27.00 DOE
Ability to work overtime during the week and Saturdays as needed

RESPONSIBILITY:
Set up and operate milling machines to mill surfaces on metal work pieces.
JOB DUTIES:
Verify that lot cards have all previous operations signed off.
Select and load cutters in spindle collet.
Sets cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut.
Verifies dimensions of milled work pieces using various measuring instruments.
Load programs.
Bring gondolas from rack to machine and wash.
Maintains proper fluid levels and coolant flow.
Ensure work is completed according to schedule.
Cleans machine daily and keeps work area orderly.
Performs preventative maintenance as required.

EDUCATION &/ OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and interpret “G code” and/or blueprints.
Ability to read calipers, micrometers, and height gages.
Past CNC milling experience and operating a fork truck a plus.
