Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for a Forklift Operator to join our Team in the Cantonment, FL area. The forklift operator will be responsible for operating forklifts to transport, stack, and retrieve supplies and materials.
Qualification Standards:
* High school or equivalent
* Preferably one (1) to three (3) years of experience in specified skill
* Must pass Turner Qualification written and practical exams
* Able to strap load to forks via ratchet strap or similar device
* Some job sites may require further NCCER certification
* Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
* Job site safety requirements (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
* Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection,
safety harness with lanyard, etc.)

Functional Requirements:
Moves hand and foot levers to control diesel, electric, or gasoline operating equipment; must have a valid driver's license; interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed; reads and interprets load charts; may be required to manipulate equipment on unleveled working surfaces; may perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and oiling machines/equipment; and maintains a clean and safe work area.

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe movement of all vessels located in the facility, and is required to inspect, repair, and maintain all assigned equipment. Duties and Responsibilities
Safely transition boats in and out of the dry stack facility using the marina's forklift.
Communicate with and safely dock or assist with all incoming or departing vessels.
Demonstrate prompt and proper assistance when tying up all boats.
Accurately fill out marina operations documents.
Follow proper fuel dock operational policies and safety procedures while fueling boats.
Accurately record the fuel inventory at the beginning and end of each day.
Clean and maintain all docks, common areas, supplies, and equipment.
Operate different types and sizes of boats, moving them from dock to dock to keep all boat traffic moving.
Keep all dock lines, fenders and other dock equipment well maintained.
Ensure that all customers' boats receive requested provisions and requirements in a neat and professional manner.
Ensure all vessels are properly secured and protected from dock damage.
Verify all boats have batteries charged before the customer's arrival.
Maintain a clean and safe work area (keep lines coiled, all trash off docks, floors in barn, marina work deck, marina workshop, etc.).
Operate small equipment when required in a safe, efficient, and professional manner (power tools, floor sweeper, golf cart, etc.).
Wash, flush, and inspect boats, as required.
Participate in the opening and closing of the facility.
Handle forklift and facility repairs and maintenance, as required (bunk and rack repairs, sprinkler system, water hose repair, etc.).
Assist with daily upkeep of the facility (trash, floors, fish cleaning station, bathrooms, etc.).
Maintain awareness of all hurricanes, storms, fire, first aid, and hazardous spill contingency plans.
Follow and complete other duties and directions as assigned by marina management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements
Must be able to swim and work safely around the water.
Ability to stand for most of the workday and work comfortably outdoors.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to board vessels from the dock or ground ladders and climb dock ramps.
Unlimited or unimpaired ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb, work safely on a ladder or in confined spaces, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
Previous marina operations preferred, including boat lifting, handling, and towing, knowledge of nautical terminology.
Ability to exhibit proper etiquette on telephones and VHF Radio.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment to achieve goals and targets.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with coworkers and customers.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
Must have a flexible schedule to include working weekends and holidays.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be at least age 16 years old.
