Position Summary: The UG Operator is responsible for all duties associated with and related to the safe, efficient, and cost- effective operation of all UG Power Equipment including but not limited to Line Truck, Squirt Boom, Bucket Truck, Excavator and or backhoe experience preferred. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Must be proficient in operating excavator and or backhoe. Must be proficient in setting up and operating line truck, and bucket truck. Working knowledge of line work preferred. Perform general site preparation, restoration and right of way maintenance duties. Develop proficiency in safe operation of all equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment. Run power tools. Perform hand digging. Transport equipment to and from job sites. Load and Unload Equipment. Maintain material inventory on truck. Active leadership skills as lead position while crew foreman is offsite. Working knowledge of underground utilities. Working knowledge of 811 Requirements and Procedures. Knowledge of terminating underground and overhead primary/mv cables. Knowledge of grounding transformers, sectionalizers and switch gears. Perform installations of insert bushings, lightning arrestors, 200 amp and 600 amp elbows. Requirements High school diploma (preferred). Knowledge of Utilities installation techniques and standards (preferred). Must have a valid Class A CDL License (required). Able to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time. Able to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
