Our advanced in-house CNC operated manufacturing equipment enables us to produce the highest quality products. Located in Reynoldsburg, OH, DMI offers a complete product line capable of tackling the most challenging design projects with a blend of modern equipment and skilled personnel. The Logistics Coordinator position is responsible for the day-to-day scheduling of shipments (flatbed & LTL), negotiating rates with 3rd party carriers, verify drivers' logs, checking of shipments for accuracy and problem resolution. The Logistics Coordinator works closely with the Operations Manager, Production Manager, Territory Managers and plant personnel to ensure that customer's needs have been met. They are the support mechanism for efficient shipping operations within the company so that we can provide optimal service to all areas of the business. Essential Functions Answer incoming phone calls and emails from Territory Sales Managers, freight companies and customers and handling their inquiries. Route and schedule company trucks, LTL shipments and 3rd party carriers. Check loaded trucks for accuracy Ensure company driver's logs are up to date and accurate Contact customers to schedule deliveries Resolves customer complaints and issues pertaining to shipping Communicates with customers to schedule delivery dates Create and maintain relationships with customers and staff. Negotiate rates with LTL companies and 3rd party carriers. Schedule and assign trucking transport for all orders and coordinate with production. Send small parts to customers via UPS/FedEX and back up Administrative Assistant on sample request. Update TSM's and Operation Manager of any issues expressed or created by customers. The Logistics Specialist role is responsible for managing the flow of goods from suppliers to the WPI factory, back out to value-add suppliers, and ultimately then on to end customers. This is accomplished by coordinating transportation, tracking shipments, understanding inventory positions, being connected to manufacturing output, analyzing logistics data, developing strategic relationships with carriers, and collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery while adhering to applicable regulations. Key Responsibilities Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers Develop forecasting plans to ensure sufficient capacity at carriers Establish priorities, track shipments real-time, and ensure availability of capable providers Keep records of all shipments (Packing Lists, BOLs, receipt confirmations) Maintain shipping schedules and hit deadlines for rush shipments Monitor and report on supply chain performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, actual spend vs target, and cost savings Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance Drive creation of packaging requirements and lead the sourcing of these materials Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers Select carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, and customer issues Review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers and report results to others Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify cost optimization opportunities Interpret trends and analyze and review data. Your Role The Logistics Specialist is responsible for executing customer vehicle relocation services orders and all supporting business operations. Key activities include customer order management and execution; communication through email and telephone with PARS staff, Independent Contractors (ICs) and pickup and delivery contacts; and maintaining accurate data in each order tracked in our CRM. This position must function during core business hours and is located on-site at the field office. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Manage execution of customer orders: Timely coordinate and schedule pickup and delivery of customer vehicles while ensuring customer instructions are precisely followed. Ensure orders are efficiently executed through “linking” of multiple orders. Oversee accurate and timely completion of additional services including but not limited to vehicle detailing, titling/registration, and vehicle placement into storage.
