The neuromuscular section currently has 7 faculty with varied interests that provide neuromuscular expertise to our ambulatory and inpatient services. This position includes neuromuscular clinic, regular time in our AANEM-accredited EMG Laboratory and rotations on our inpatient neurology teaching service. There is additional opportunity for participation in neuromuscular clinics and the EMG lab at our growing program at Riverside University Medical Center, intraoperative monitoring and peripheral ultrasonography. This position is perfect for a clinician educator and offers weekly teaching sessions and a regional monthly neuromuscular conference. Our faculty are core participants in resident, student, and fellow education at both the bedside and medical school level. Our program includes an ALSA Certified Center, a funded MDA Clinic, and we direct a unique multidisciplinary team of allied professionals (physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapy, nutrition, psychology, etc.) that provides prompt access for all of our neurology and neuromuscular patients. Our department has specialists in dementia, epilepsy, headache medicine, movement disorders, neurocritical care, and stroke. Our department also has its own clinical research personnel and conducts clinical trials in many areas including neuromuscular disorders. We have a strong tradition of clinical excellence with an established Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship, neuromuscular conferences, and mentorship.
