Physicist PhD 2 - (Full-time, Rotating Shifts) About the Department: The Department of Radiation Medicine at Loma Linda University has a staff of about 100 employees, including nine radiation oncologists. The physics team of medical professionals comprising four PhD physicists, three MS physicists, a calibration physicist, and six dosimetrists. The department's equipment and facilities include three linear accelerators, a dedicated CT scanner, a PET-CT scanner, a patient immobilization facility, a device manufacturing facility, and a physics/dosimetry laboratory. An MRI center and nuclear medicine facilities are in the immediate vicinity. Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) is also home to world's first hospital-based proton treatment center, which features three isocentric gantries, two fixed-beam treatment lines, and a research room with three additional fixed-beam lines dedicated solely to investigations. The department also offers radiation therapy at satellite facilities in Beaumont (about 25 miles southeast of LLUMC) and Murrieta (about 45 miles south of LLUMC). Each of these facilities has one linear accelerator. Staff in the department use x-rays and proton beams to treat patients presenting with all kinds of cancers. We perform 3D-CRT, IMRT, VMAT, SRS, SBRT, TBI, and ocular treatments. The department also offers LDR brachytherapy, mainly for some gynecologic cancers, and Sr-90 ophthalmic treatment for pterygium. The department offers residency programs in therapeutic medical physics and radiation oncology. The department also supports a Radiation Therapy Technology (RTT) program through LLU's School of Allied Health Professions. Immediate Future: Currently, the department is in the process of acquiring a new linac (Varian Edge) and a Varian Bravos HDR system. Further, we are preparing to upgrade one of our scattered-beam proton treatment gantries to pencil-beam scanning capability through the addition of a MEVION S250-FIT compact proton therapy system. The new Chief Physicist will be tasked with bringing these modalities to full clinical utility in the near future. Another challenge will be to rebuild a robust clinical physics research program and establish research collaborations between clinical personnel and the medical physics team. Job Summary: The Collector 1 performs telephone calls and website checks for claim status from insurance companies, government payers, third party payers, worker's compensation payers, medical groups, outside hospitals, and physician's offices to ensure timely payments for inpatient and outpatient hospital bills in accordance with the terms and conditions of each contract and/or insurance company policies. Determines if payer needs additional information, identifies barriers, and secures payment dates. Is responsible for following through with requested information as needed in order to remove payment barriers or escalates the account to LLUH Management or Payer Management. Develops collection recovery strategies with each payer. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Minimum one year of experience in healthcare billing, auditing, managed care or collections required; preferably in hospital billing. Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge of automated billing, follow-up and adjudication systems required (LLEAP/Epic, Assurance, DDE, FISS, Medi-Cal website, and Noridian Medicare Portal). Job Summary: The Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding pool areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with Drayson Center policies and procedures. This is a seasonal position. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred. No prior experience required. Minimum six months of lifeguarding experience preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Able to perform all American Red Cross Lifeguarding skills and CPR skills; swim 500 yards in 10 minutes required; perform active victim, passive victim, and spinal injury rescues. Job Summary: The Electroencephalography (EEG) Technician-Two (2) performs routine, complex, and intra-operative electroencephalograms (adult, pediatric, and neonatal) and evoked potentials (Brainstem Auditory Evoked Responses (BAER), Visual Evoked Potential (VEP), Somatosensory Evoked Potential (SSEP)) on outpatients and inpatients. Has developed maturity and expertise in the neurodiagnostic field, which is incorporated in the performing of specialized recordings and monitoring of additional physiological phenomena by means of appropriate techniques in research. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Successful completion of an educational program for EEG technologists accredited by the American Medical Association (AMA) committee on allied health education and accreditation or successful completion of the trainee program at LLUMC or equivalent training required. Minimum one year as a level one EEG Technician required. Knowledge and Skills: Manual dexterity for electrode placement and machine operation, typing ability, speak clearly to communicate instructions and gather information. Job Summary: The Outpatient Psychotherapist demonstrates advanced clinical, problem solving and crisis intervention skills. Serves as a resource to other clinical therapists and the multi-disciplinary team members. Conducts clinical services, participates in case management, discharge planning, and intervenes in high-risk situations. The Outpatient Psychotherapist complies with all legal and regulatory reporting requirements, interventions, documentation and referrals. The Outpatient Psychotherapist collaborates with the treatment team, collateral contacts and community agencies to deliver the highest quality patient care services. The Outpatient Psychotherapist works within the scope of designated state license to provide clinical supervision to pre-licensed staff. If in a recovery program, at least two years of sobriety is required for staff and at least five years for Management. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Completion of a master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling related field, or completion of a doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in clinical psychology is required. A current BBS license is required. A minimum of two years of experience in a behavioral health care setting is required. A minimum of two years of experience in an acute psychiatric facility with age specific population is preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of psychotherapy theory and techniques.
