The Ranch Director oversees the daily operations of our residential child-care program, ensuring youth receive high-quality care in a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment. This role requires a highly engaged, visible presence on the ranch with ongoing interaction with youth and staff. The Ranch Director leads program operations, supervises Team Leaders and Direct Care Staff, manages crisis response, ensures compliance with licensing standards, and actively coaches staff in applying the agency's Philosophy and Treatment Model.
The Ranch Director ensures the Keeping Kids First approach is consistently demonstrated across all shifts and departments and maintains proactive systems to protect children from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
🔹 Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and coach Team Leaders and Direct Care Staff to support high-quality, trauma-informed care.
Oversee scheduling, staffing, ratio compliance, and daily program operations; identify staffing gaps and develop contingency plans.
Provide 24/7 on-call coverage and respond promptly to crises or emergent situations.
Ensure relevant information (safety plans, crisis strategies, supervision needs) is communicated and implemented consistently.
Provide on-the-job coaching and training with emphasis on relational engagement and trauma-informed practices.
Ensure all new hire, mandatory, and annual trainings are completed, documented, and tracked; become certified to train EBI, CPR, First Aid, TBRI, and Human Trafficking.
Conduct routine walkthroughs of houses, vehicles, and grounds to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance.
Collaborate closely with Case Managers, Therapists, Nurse, Team Leaders, and Administrators to support treatment planning and program coordination.
Ensure safe medication delivery practices and compliance with all storage and documentation requirements.
Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency policy.
Ensure timely and accurate documentation, including daily notes, incident reports, and required paperwork.
Review all incident reports within 24 hours and report serious incidents immediately per minimum standards.
Facilitate staff meetings that promote communication, accountability, and problem-solving.
Manage petty cash, youth accounts, trip funds, and other financial responsibilities.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Administrator, COO, and/or CEO.

3+ years of residential child-care experience, including supervisory responsibility.
