The Hotel Manager will be responsible for the opening of a newly renovated 24-room hotel in Independence, CA. Along with the owners and corporate management team, the Hotel Manager will assist with final opening processes and oversee the hiring and training of hotel staff.
The Hotel Manager will lead the successful daily operation and administration of all hotel departments. They will be responsible for ensuring a consistent focus on providing an exceptional guest experience and maximizing the profitability of the Hotel. To achieve desired outcomes, the Hotel Manager will plan, implement, and control effective strategies that drive results by creating and maintaining a competent, motivated, and empowered team. The Hotel Manager must also be involved within the community and positively represent the hotel.
As a small hotel, the general manager will work shifts during low season or in the case of employee call offs.

Works to resolve issues or problems that guests may experience.
Handles special requests and accommodations.
Manages customer feedback online and in person.
Inspects facilities to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Ensures maintenance issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Analyzes financial performance on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis information; plans and facilitates purchases, and accurately codes and enters all invoices
Monitors key performance metrics and identifies opportunities to increase profitability.
Coordinates services with outside suppliers, vendors, travel agencies, and event planners.
Assists in the development and maintains a marketing strategy to promote the hotel and services and business functions.
Assists with revenue management including rate adjustments, rate parity and rate restrictions.

Boatswains Mates perform most of their duties outdoors, working closely with others. The majority of their work is physical in nature.
Work Environment
BMs spend about 60% of their time assigned to fleet units and 40% assigned to shore stations over a 20-year career. They often work in outdoor environments, which can be physically demanding and involve teamwork.
Training & Advancement
Upon completion of Recruit Training, BMs attend a four-week A school in Great Lakes, IL, where they learn basic general safety, watch standing, deck seamanship, underway replenishment, and preventive maintenance. Selected BMs may receive additional amphibious
training depending on future assignments. Promotion opportunities are above average compared to other Navy ratings.

Course Description: This course develops the skills necessary to pass the state-mandated test to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Topics include legal and ethical responsibilities, bedside care, moving and positioning a resident, general observations of a resident's condition, and responsibilities related to care of the long-term care resident. Practical bedside skills will be practiced by the student in the nursing skills lab. The student gains clinical experience in our skilled nursing facility. The student must pass the course with a grade of "C" or better to be eligible to take the California CNA exam. The CNA student is required to complete the following prior to clinical rotations: physical, questionnaire, TB screening, confirm immunization, background check, and drug screening. The student is required to complete a Live Scan and application for the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) upon enrollment into this course.
Program Length: 5 Weeks @ 40 hours per week.
Student Responsibilities: Students will be dropped from the course for non-attendance, this is an accelerated course which does not allow for excessive absences. You are provided with three "make up days" which can be done to ensure you have the 160-hour minimum requirement for this course. Uniforms will need to be ordered within the first week for when students begin working with residents in skilled nursing. It is recommended to order at least 2 sets of scrub attire (3 recommended). You will need the following: scrubs in navy blue color to identify you as a student, wear closed toed non-slip shoes and bring a watch with a second hand. Excessive phone use without proper reason will not be tolerated, please be responsible. Please see instructor for special circumstance require cell phone use.
While is is the final responsibility of the student to drop a class that she/he is no longer attending, instructors may at their discretion drop students without consultation with the student when unexcused absences number (3) or the equivalent of 24 hours. Students will be assigned the appropriate letter grade. Students will participate at least five times a week with active participation including but not limited to: completing assignments, discussion questions, taking quizzes and exams, skills lab, and floor training. Students who are not actively participating in the course can be dropped at the instructor's discretion. Please that that this class act's as a kind of preemployment interview for this facility, you are being compensated for your time and should be treat this program as a job. Student Conduct: The district expects students to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the educational purposes of the course. Course Description: This course develops the skills necessary to pass the state-mandated test to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Topics include legal and ethical responsibilities, bedside care, moving and positioning a resident, general observations of a resident's condition, and responsibilities related to care of the long-term care resident. Practical bedside skills will be practiced by the student in the nursing skills lab. The student gains clinical experience in our skilled nursing facility. The student must pass the course with a grade of "C" or better to be eligible to take the California CNA exam. The CNA student is required to complete the following prior to clinical rotations: physical, questionnaire, TB screening, confirm immunization, background check, and drug screening. The student is required to complete a Live Scan and application for the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) upon enrollment into this course.
Program Length: 5 Weeks @ 40 hours per week.
Student Responsibilities: Students will be dropped from the course for non-attendance, this is an accelerated course which does not allow for excessive absences. You are provided with three "make up days" which can be done to ensure you have the 160-hour minimum requirement for this course. Uniforms will need to be ordered within the first week for when students begin working with residents in skilled nursing. It is recommended to order at least 2 sets of scrub attire (3 recommended). You will need the following: scrubs in navy blue color to identify you as a student, wear closed toed non-slip shoes and bring a watch with a second hand. Excessive phone use without proper reason will not be tolerated, please be responsible. Please see instructor for special circumstance require cell phone use.
While is is the final responsibility of the student to drop a class that she/he is no longer attending, instructors may at their discretion drop students without consultation with the student when unexcused absences number (3) or the equivalent of 24 hours. Students will be assigned the appropriate letter grade. Students will participate at least five times a week with active participation including but not limited to: completing assignments, discussion questions, taking quizzes and exams, skills lab, and floor training. Students who are not actively participating in the course can be dropped at the instructor's discretion. Please that that this class act's as a kind of preemployment interview for this facility, you are being compensated for your time and should be treat this program as a job.
