Middle School Long Term Spanish Substitute Teacher

Sidwell Friends School, a co-educational Quaker day school with campuses in Bethesda and Washington, DC, seeks a long-term substitute Middle School Spanish teacher beginning in late November, 2021 through mid-January, 2022. The successful candidate will have experience teaching middle-school students and high school students and have native or near-native proficiency in the Spanish language. Beyond the classroom, expectations include communicating effectively with students, communicating orally and in writing with parents, and working collaboratively with other teachers. The position includes three sections of Middle School Spanish and one of Upper School Spanish, so the successful candidate will be prepared to teach beginners and also more advanced students.
A bachelors degree is required, preferably in Spanish or Education. A masters degree is preferred.

The most desirable candidates will also be able to demonstrate proficiency using digital and online platforms and proven effectiveness as a classroom teacher in a brick-and-mortar setting. This position requires teaching in person.

Special Education Teacher
