Demonstrates initiative, positive attitude, professionalism, reliability, and strong workplace communication skills. Ability to adapt to change, manage shifting priorities, and navigate unexpected events with steadiness and dependability. Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, take direction, think critically, and problem solve effectively. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Desired qualifications include WRAP, Nonviolent Communication, Recovery Planning, and other mental health focused certifications. Additional skills that expand access to marginalized communities such as bilingual fluency or sign language are welcomed. Valid California drivers license and proof of auto insurance. DOJ background clearance required. Completion of peer certification or enrollment toward certification within three months of hire. KNOWLEDGE OF Core principles of the recovery model and evidence based peer support practices. Consumer driven philosophy including self help, wellness, shared decision making, trauma informed and person centered care, culturally and linguistically responsive approaches, and strengths based engagement. Motivational Interviewing and peer counseling techniques. Sacramento County mental health system, local community resources, and available support services. Health, housing, employment, education, and benefits systems including SOAR or similar programs. Community defined practices and alternative approaches that promote wellness and recovery.
