  • Automation Operations Engineer

    Loop 4.5company rating

Loop job in New York, NY or remote

About the Engineering Organization:The Engineering Team at Loop is a balance of agility, consistency, and performance. These are the pillars that allow the team to constantly and consistently deliver value that matters to customers. That customer intimacy is what allows our engineering teams to be the best in our space, and bring the best ideas to the market. About the Role: We're looking for an Automation Engineer to take ownership of automating high-impact, repetitive workflows across IT, internal systems, and other business functions, while enabling self-serve internal tooling patterns that reduce friction across the business. Success in this role is measured not just by what's built, but by what's adopted, ensuring automations are enabled, documented, and actively used by the teams they're designed for. This role focuses on maximizing the automation, extensibility, and intelligence of our existing systems and platforms, and only building custom solutions where they provide clear, measurable business value. You'll partner with leaders across multiple business units to identify bottlenecks, manual processes, and gaps in operational scalability. You'll then implement streamlined, engineering-centric solutions with clear, measurable outcomes, reducing costs, reclaiming time, lowering error rates, and accelerating time to value. This is a hands-on, impact-oriented role that blends strong systems thinking with a product-minded approach to internal enablement. Our Blended Work Environment:At Loop, we're intentional about the way we work so that we can do our best work. We call this our Blended Working Environment. We work from our HQ in Columbus, OH, or one of our Hub or Secluded locations, and are distributed throughout the United States, select Canadian provinces, and the United Kingdom. For this position, we're looking for someone to join us in Columbus, OH; Chicago, IL; Austin, TX; Los Angeles, CA; or fully remote. Our Tech Stack: A mix of internal services, AWS cloud infrastructure, and third-party platforms that expose APIs, webhooks, and automation primitives used to build reliable, scalable workflows. What You'll Do: Partner with business functions to identify a small number of high-leverage workflows where automation can drive outsized impact, rather than spreading effort across many low-value tasks. Build and extend reusable automation workflows that connect internal tools and APIs, with a focus on supporting internal business operations. Maximize native features in 3rd party tools like Rippling, Salesforce, Slack, and/or Gitlab to improve efficiency and reduce the need for custom development. Enable internal self-serve tools and workflows for developers and business users alike, using established patterns and templates. Contribute to a growing automation platform by turning successful one-off solutions into reusable patterns that can be applied across teams with minimal incremental effort. Serve as the technical owner for cross-functional automation initiatives, bringing engineering rigor to internal tooling. Layer AI tools and copilots onto existing infrastructure to empower non-engineers to build, automate, and operate with confidence, establishing guardrails that ensure security, compliance, and maintainability at scale. Track and communicate the impact of automation efforts using practical metrics (e.g., time saved, cycle time reduction, error reduction), helping the organization understand what's working and why. Help keep teams informed about available automations and self-serve capabilities through documentation, examples, and occasional enablement sessions. Your Experience: 4+ years in automation engineering, systems engineering, internal tooling, or related technical roles with a strong focus on reducing manual effort. Experience building production-grade automation that interacts with real systems (APIs, webhooks, event-driven workflows), not just local scripts. Experience designing infrastructure-as-code and reusable automation patterns that scale across teams and tools. Confidently engaging directly with stakeholders to surface pain points, define success metrics, and deliver high-impact automation aligned to business priorities. Demonstrated ability to deliver usable, documented internal tooling with minimal overhead and long-term maintainability. Strong prioritization instincts; able to assess and balance competing needs using sound judgment to drive outcomes that maximize value and reduce operational drag. Proven ability to operate independently, navigating ambiguity, building cross-functional relationships, and self-prioritizing work without constant direction. Familiarity with tools or systems that can act on behalf of users (e.g., workflow engines, assistants, or API-driven automation). #LI-ST1 Loop Story Commerce should feel effortless. Every product adored, every order perfect, every customer loyal for life. But reality is messier: operations get tangled, margins grow thin, and trust is fragile. That's where Loop steps in. • Automation Operations Engineer

    Loop 4.5company rating

Loop job in New York, NY or remote

Job DescriptionAbout the Engineering Organization:The Engineering Team at Loop is a balance of agility, consistency, and performance. We know that making decisions about your career and compensation is a huge deal. Because of that, we're incredibly thoughtful about our compensation strategy. We want you to feel safe and excited, but also comfortable with the compensation package of a startup. We've outlined some important information for you here, but please know there's a lot more to compensation than we can cover in this job posting. The posted salary range is the base salary for this opportunity. The salary range is subject to change, and may be adjusted in the future. The actual annual salary paid for this position will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to: your prior experience and skills related to the position, geographic location, company needs, current market demands, and your total compensation goals. Great humans deserve great benefits. At Loop, you'll be eligible for benefits such as: medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible PTO, company holidays, sick & safe leave, parental leave, 401k, monthly wellness benefit, home workstation benefit, phone/internet benefit, and equity.#LI-ST1 Loop Story Commerce should feel effortless.
