OUR HEAVY-DUTY TECHNICIAN
The primary purpose of the HEAVY-DUTY TECHNICIAN is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Environmental Services Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the CEO and/or the Environmental Services Director to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable
manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF HEAVY DUTY TECH
Ensure that work/cleaning procedures are followed.
Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
Serve on, participate in and attend various committees of the facility as appointed.
Attend scheduled department staff meetings to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and/or the improvement of services.
Attend and participate in new-hire orientation.
Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc., as required by the facility or the department in relation to your position.
Attend and participate in annual in-service training programs for hazard communication, TB management and bloodborne pathogens standard.
Follow established safety regulations, to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.
Follow established policies governing the use of labels and MSDSs.
Keep work areas free of hazardous objects such as protruding mop/broom handles, unnecessary equipment, supplies, etc.
Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions, as assigned.
Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms/apartments, recreational areas, dining rooms, offices, restrooms, etc., daily as instructed.

EDUCATION & TRAINING
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
On-the-job training provided.

The primary focus of the Social Worker role.

Support Hebrew Home in its provision of medically-related social services to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
Create an environment of non-pharmacological behavioral strategies to address behavioral health issues related to residents/patients who have been referred.
Collaborate with the Care Team in identifying and implementing behavioral modification/intervention strategies with a focus on reducing use of psychotropic medications.

This is a FULL TIME EXEMPT position with a Monday thru Friday schedule.

Provides safety planning to shelter clients in coordination with the ElderSAFE team and CESLC security team.
Sends out communications to campus partners via campus security alerts upon client admission and discharge.
Provides consultative guidance and training to CESLC associates on issues of abuse, neglect and financial exploitation.
Assists ElderSAFE team in training internal and external partners on abuse, neglect and financial exploitation
Participates in internal and external meetings, coalitions and conferences. Ā·

Provides occasional after-hours coverage, in coordination with ElderSAFE team members. Ā·

Required Skills and Experience
This position requires a BSW; Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.
Must hold State of Maryland licensure. License can be in pending status.
Two or more years of experience as a social worker providing direct services and case management to older adults in a health care setting, senior living community or Adult Day Care Center.
Experience working with survivors of elder abuse, domestic violence, family violence or a related field is preferred.

What will I do as a Building Services Manager?

Order supplies, material, and equipment to maintain backup parts to ensure continuous operations. Process purchase orders. Negotiate the best available prices with vendors. Ensure that goods are received as ordered. Track expenses to maintain the budget.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state/local standards, and regulations including COMAR, ADA, OSHA, CMS, Life Safety Code and NFPA. Provide support during emergency disaster situations. Maintain a safe, neat, and productive work environment in all equipment and shop areas. Maintain tools in good working condition and ensure the safety of the work area for staff, residents and visitors.
Track overtime; keep staffing costs within budget. Schedule employees to meet the needs of the facility and approves leave requests.
Monitor staff work performance levels to ensure peak efficiency and provide feedback to improve performance. Review and prioritize work orders, assist staff to ensure proper work order completion and training, Identify and instruct staff on correcting work problems. Complete staff annual evaluations. Provide counseling or discipline as necessary to ensure the highest level of performance and customer service.
Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, exterior grounds work, snow/ice removal, driving company vehicles for transportation or supply pickup.
What is required in this position?
Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
Requires 2nd Grade Stationary Engineer License; 1st Grade Stationary Engineer License preferred.
Requires valid driver's license.
Maintenance Electrician license, Plumbing License or CFC Certification preferred.
Requires 5 years' experience in building maintenance experience.
Experience in the healthcare industry preferred.
