The California Post's Photo Department is integral to our fast-paced newsroom, working across platforms to enhance storytelling with compelling and timely imagery. Our editors are visual journalists with sharp editorial instincts and a keen sense for what resonates with readers.
Reporting into the Photo Director, this role will be a key part of the visuals team, helping shape how stories are told across our digital platforms. The Photo Editor will react quickly to breaking news, source compelling imagery, and collaborate closely with editors and reporters to ensure our coverage is visually engaging, accurate, and timely.
Responsibilities:
+ Source, edit, and publish imagery for breaking news, features, politics, sports, and entertainment coverage.
+ React in real time to live breaking news, ensuring visuals are quickly and effectively integrated.
+ Edit and enhance images using Adobe Photoshop, creating composites or homepage previews when needed.
+ Collaborate with editors, producers, and reporters to fulfill photo requests and elevate visual storytelling.
+ Pitch photo-driven ideas and contribute to planning visual coverage across major events.
+ Negotiate with agencies and freelancers when sourcing imagery.
+ Ensure all visual content meets California Post's editorial standards and brand voice.
Requirements:
+ 5+ years of experience as a photo editor within a newsroom or media environment.
+ Strong editorial judgment and broad knowledge of current events, sports, and entertainment.
+ Proven ability to react quickly under deadline pressure in a fast-paced newsroom.
+ Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and familiarity with digital asset workflows.
+ Sharp eye for visuals, with experience sourcing from wires, agencies, and social platforms.
+ Familiarity with rights, usage, and negotiating rates with agencies/freelancers.
+ Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
+ Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as news demands.
_Note: This role will be expected to report on-site 5 days per week._

Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000

We are seeking a Director of RevenueManagement to join our leadership team. This role is a rare opportunity to oversee revenue strategy for one of the most iconic hotels in Los Angeles, with responsibility for driving performance across rooms, food and beverage, and ancillary revenue streams.
What you will do You will take the lead in setting strategy and ensuring its execution across all segments and channels. From pricing and forecasting to managing distribution and leading weekly revenue meetings, your expertise will directly shape the hotel's success. You will partner closely with the General Manager, ownership, and cross-department leaders, while also managing and mentoring the on-property reservations team.
Who we are looking for You are a proven revenue leader with at least five years of experience in revenue management and three or more years in a leadership capacity.
