LOS ANGELES COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES Adjunct - AY26 Multimedia Instructor, Game and Art Design Temporary Assignment - Pool Announcement The instructor will teach a mix of courses in the Multimedia Game Art & Design and Animation disciplines. Department responsibilities include participating in eSports lab, Student Learning Outcome Committee. This is an adjunct, hourly, academic position that may include teaching day, evening, weekend, hybrid, online, in-person, and/or dual enrollment classes. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Teach classes assigned by the Chair on campus (in-person classes), hybrid, online, or at dual enrollment sites.
* Teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced courses in game art & design, animation, virtual production, visual development, and production courses.
* Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
* Remain current in the discipline, teaching methods, and instructional technology
* Supervise student projects in a production environment.
* Possible participation in outreach to high schools, open houses (include summer bootcamp), and dual enrollment activities.
* Advise and mentor game art & design, and animation majors on pathways to careers, certificates, degrees, and transfers processes to promote student success.
* Assess student performance and maintain accurate student records (rosters and grades), and other administrative requirements.
* Use a variety of teaching tools, including software, video, and audio technology, including specialty software in animation and game art design.
* Assignments may be day, evening, or weekends, and may be on the campus, online, or at a Dual Enrollment site. Opportunities exist for summer and winter intersession teaching.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience OR;
* Associate's degree and six years of professional experience.
* A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
NOTE: Professional experience must be directly related to the teaching assignment.

COMPENSATION

Representative Duties

* Shall have been licensed or permitted for a minimum of two years and possess experience in dental assisting subject matter;

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Job Duties
1. Teach a full load (up to 15 units) of courses offered in Ethnic Studies and, as needed or required, courses offered in affiliated programs and departments such as Asian American Studies, African American Studies, Latin American & Latino/a Studies Department, and Philippine Studies. Assignments may also include courses in the following departmental programs: Ethnic Studies, Native American and Indigenous Studies, Critical Pacific Islands and Oceania Studies, Critical (Middle East) SWANA Studies, and Diversity and Social Justice.
2. Participate in curriculum development and revision of transfer courses to 4-year universities such as CSU and UC.
3. Coordinate several certificate and degree programs within the department such as Ethnic Studies, Diversity and Social Justice, Critical Pacific Islands and Oceania Studies, Critical SWANA (Middle East) Studies, Native American and Indigenous Studies, and Trauma, Prevention, and Recovery.
4. Develop and teach in-person, daytime and evening, hybrid, and/or online classes at the college in special programs (dual enrollment and correctional facilities), and at other non-campus sites where CCSF classes are taught.
5. Create, develop and maintain currency in course curriculum in conversation with impacted disciplines, multiple sections of courses, and cross-curricular departments in the Ethnic Studies and Social Justice Collaborative: Asian American Studies, Philippine Studies, African American Studies, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer Studies, Labor and Community Studies, Women's and Gender Studies, Asian Studies, Latin American and Latina/o/x/e Studies, and Disabled Students Programs and Services.
6. May assume Department Chair responsibilities, contingent on Department election.
7. Each term, submit Census reports and grades in a timely manner and assess and report student learning outcomes for courses taught.
8. Assess and evaluate program needs that include opportunities to strengthen student success and equity across the department's programs. These could include, for example, speaker series, community partnerships, academic conferences, and community events.
9. Participate in required department, division, and school meetings and attend required professional development and flex day trainings.
10. Serve on committees of the department and cross-listed departments, and college-wide committees such as Academic Senate Committees and Participatory Governance Council (PGC) Committees.
11. Collaborate and coordinate with other affiliated departments and offices (e.g., Office of Equity and SparkPoint); counseling and retention programs such as UMOJA/African American Scholastic Program (AASP), VASA (Oceania) Student Success Program; and resource centers on joint projects, initiatives, events, and activities.
12. Serve as a liaison with San Francisco and Bay Area communities connected to the department's programs, including student organizations, multicultural retention programs, academic departments, and community-based organizations. Participate on, or act as an informal member of, advisory committees for affiliated departments, programs, and centers at CCSF, as well as within the broader San Francisco community.
13. Actively publicize and develop awareness of and interest in Ethnic Studies and Interdisciplinary Studies courses within the college and in the larger San Francisco community.
14. Participate in educational organizations related to Ethnic Studies.
15. Participate in ongoing training on diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racist pedagogy.
16. Cultivate, foster, and engage in an innovative culture of culturally responsive, equity-based and anti-racist pedagogies and practices as it relates to student success with an awareness of student equity gaps.

Minimum Qualifications

The Master of Science in Systems Engineering program serves approximately 40 graduate students with one major program (fully online) with various technical foci, five certificate program (mixed modality), and one dual-degree program in collaboration with MBA of LMU's College of Business Administration (the MBA portion is in-person). The following is a non-exhaustive list of instructor job responsibilities: prepare and distribute a course syllabus; prepare and lead class sessions; hold regular office hours and answer student questions; develop, distribute, and/or grade discussion materials, homework, quizzes, and other course materials; write, proctor, and grade midterm and final examinations; maintain and timely submit class records, such as attendance and grade reports; attend meetings and training, as needed; and comply with all university standards and requirements. Minimum Qualifications:
Must have sufficient industry experience in Systems Engineering. Prior teaching experience is preferable. Must have the ability to use browser-based software services, and standard classroom and office equipment. Position requires excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Must possess ability for, and genuine interest in, meeting the educational needs of students, and sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural/ethnic backgrounds of the students.

What you'll do:
* Deliver engaging instruction through classroom teaching, clinical rotations, and simulation-based learning in the Mental Health Nursing course. This is a fully in person position.

* Facilitate learning using the nursing judgment model, emphasizing clinical reasoning, diagnostic skills, and individualized care planning.
* Develop clinical assignments that are appropriately challenging and prioritize both student learning and patient safety.
* Supervise, guide, and evaluate students during clinical experiences, offering constructive, timely, and supportive feedback.
* Assess student performance and provide detailed, growth-oriented feedback on clinical paperwork, reflections, and care plans.
* Proactively identify students who may be struggling and connect them with academic or personal support resources early in the semester.
* Participate in regular teaching team meetings to align course content, expectations, and strategies for promoting student success.
* Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with clinical partners; serve as a representative of the CCSF Nursing Program in all external collaborations.
