    Scientific Drilling is looking for a Electronic Technician to join our Applied Technologies Center in Paso Robles, CA. Our Electronic Technician will work in our Manufactuing team and is expected to perform the essential duties listed below. Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Tests electronic assemblies using a written procedure. Uses multimeters and oscilloscopes to measure voltages and waveforms. Troubleshoots test failures to board level. Writes failure reports. Works with Test Technicians to solve failures. Responsible for the electronic equipment and tools in his or her work area. Manages work station and practices good housekeeping techniques. May be required to work overtime. Pursues every job with drive and determination. Uses logic to solve problems with effective solutions. Performs other relevant duties as required. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be able to identify electronic components on schematics and circuit boards. Must understand common electronic concepts, such as current, voltage, resistance, and Ohm's Law. Must be able to read and understand electronic schematics. The ability to use correct soldering techniques is a plus. Ability to present oneself with professional appearance and behavior in accordance with ATC dress code and SDI Code of Conduct. Ability to meet all SDI/ATC safety requirements. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to read, communicate, and understand the English language. Computer proficiency. Ability to communicate effectively with managers and peers, both written and verbally. Adhere to established company procedures and policies, work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed. Possess the ability to be interactive with management staff and co-workers. The ability to use a word processor and a spreadsheet is preferred. Education, Experience, Certification, and Training: Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. An Associates Degree in Electronics or equivalent experience required. 0-2 years experience in the field of electronics preferred. Location, Physical Requirements, and PPE: Manufacturing: Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see , write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry 25 lbs. and under, perceive depth, and operate motor equipment. Conditions include working inside. Working around moving objects, machines with moving parts. Working around radiant and electrical energy. Work with heated soldering iron and flux. Working closely with others, working alone, working extended or irregular hours. Working environment may include but not limited to, intermittent noise, fumes, smoke, grease, dust, oils and solvents. Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, hand tools, power tools, air tools, microscope and telephone. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, reinforced toed shoes, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
