The Loss Prevention Agent will maintain a high visibility presence to deter inappropriate actions.Hiring for all shift, day, night and weekend (Friday-Sunday) How We're DifferentWe provide competitive compensation Shift differential for night and weekend shifts Your medical benefits begin on your first day We provide tuition reimbursement available after 6 months We deliver exceptional paid time off Key Responsibilities Monitor entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to facility and production floor Observe detecting devices (metal detectors and wands) and report any issues to supervisor.Report any suspicious/unusual occurrences to Assurant management team Walk inside on production floor to ensure no tampering to doors, windows, or dock.Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons Write incident and accident reports Maintain Visitors and Contractors log Watch alarm systems and CCTV video cameras and report any suspicious activity Ensures that all employees and visitors have appropriate outwardly displayed security badges Create reports on incidents for management use Minimum Qualifications High school degree or equivalent Basic proficiency in MS Office Products Suite and related software programs Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates, or permits. Unarmed Security License, CPR and AED preferred Good communication skills, both verbal and written Willingness to work extended hours including nights and weekends, as required Integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism Ability to operate handheld two-way radio Previous experience in one or more of the following: Loss Prevention, Security, Military, Corrections, Life Guard, or Law Enforcement, or other related area.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentWork location is on-site in LaVergne, TNWork is performed in a typical warehouse environment with exposure to high and low temperatures, moderate to high levels of noise and forklift truck traffic This position requires sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time. Will occasionally require bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing Ability to move/lift up to 25 lbs. with or without accommodation Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Job Responsibilities

As a Loss Prevention Detective, you will perform loss prevention as part of the retail operations team. You will be responsible for guarding, patrolling, and monitoring premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.

Additional responsibilities of the Detective include:

• Providing loss prevention support and awareness through policies, procedures, and personal involvement

• Providing surveillance and assisting police with apprehensions of shoplifters

• Conducting store opening and closing procedures

• Performing safety audits, safety, and fire prevention and inspections

• Answering alarm responses

• Performing insurance inspections and investigations

Job Requirements

Successful candidates for the Detective role should have effective communication skills and the interpersonal skills required to work with customers, management, and coworkers. Someone who has strong analytical and problem solving skills and is looking for a challenging opportunity working in a dynamic retail environment would be a good fit for this retail operations role.

Additional requirements of the Detective include:

• Prior experience in retail loss prevention, preferred

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

• Availability to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, early openings, and late closings

Overview

Job Summary

Responsible for the Loss Prevention activities related to the detection, apprehension and processing of shoplifters. Diligently set an example of what it means to be an employee owner who makes excellent business minded decisions aimed at controlling loss and helping the company protect profits. Assist store management in maintaining a safe environment for our customers, vendors, and employees. Provide presence and professionalism aimed at de-escalating situations that arise within the store. Assist internal Loss Prevention staff conducting various investigations. Perform related work.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

* Demonstrates professionalism and excellent judgement in a fast paced retail environment.
* Detects, apprehends and processes shoplifters in accordance with company policies and local laws/regulations.
* Contributes to the safe resolution of concerning situations within the store using verbal de-escalation techniques paired with professional presence.
* Prepares and submits reports involving investigations and Loss Prevention (LP) matters.
* Researches and archives general liability incidents via C.C.T.V.
* Participates in internal company investigations.
* Testifies at legal and court proceedings on behalf of the company.
* Works with local, state and government agencies regarding company matters.
* Participates in maintenance of loss prevention and safety programs.
* Conducts loss prevention audits.
* Detects, investigates and reports hazardous workplace incidents and issues.
* Provides store support by promoting loss prevention and safety awareness.
* Provides LP training to store staff.
* Maintains loss prevention office and equipment to established standards.
* Identifies and troubleshoots and reports issues with C.C.T.V. equipment.

Requirements

Education:

* High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

* Recognizing the required criteria to determine what constitutes shoplifting.
* Demonstrating good excellent judgment when responding to difficult situations or individuals.
* Providing excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills in a work setting.
* Documenting work and customer service activities.
* Applying strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
* Prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
* Demonstrating initiative and self-direction.
* Working effectively in a team oriented environment.

Ability to:

* Consistently provide friendly and engaging customer service to internal and external customers.
* Perform at a high level in a fast paced environment with limited immediate supervision.
* Work 10-12 hour shifts in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends and holidays.
* Develop proficiency with WinCo's C.C.T.V. equipment, locks and door hardware.
* Sit for extended periods.
* Perform all tasks efficiently and accurately with confidentiality, honesty and integrity.
* Obtain State or Local certifications as required.
* Wear provided personal protective equipment such as gloves and protective vests
* Travel daily within a defined geographic area to assigned locations.
* Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

* Must be at least 18 years old

Machines and Equipment Operated:

* Office machines (computer terminal, copier/ scanner, 10-key, fax machine, telephone etc.).
* C.T.V., DVR and digital camera equipment.
