Lourdes University company history timeline

1958

Lourdes University is a Catholic and Franciscan institution established in 1958 by the Sisters of St Francis.

1961

1969

Initially, Lourdes College was to provide young Catholic women with training as nuns, but in 1969, the institution began to accept women seeking a more traditional college education.

1975

In 1975, Lourdes College admitted the first men in its history.

1988

The Community of the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal is a public association of the faithful established in 1988 as a parallel Community to the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.

2002

In 2002, Lourdes began offering graduate degrees and since then has expanded its graduate school to include programs in business, education, leadership, liberal studies, nursing, and theology.
