The company was founded in 1923 and is based in Wichita, Kansas. It has manufacturing plants, warehouses, design labs, and service locations in Bentonville and Fayetteville, Arkansas; Salina and Wichita, Kansas; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Independence, Missouri; Lincoln, Nebraska; Lewisburg, Ohio; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Amarillo and Grand Prairie, Texas. As of November 30, 2005, Love Box Company, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Pratt Industries (USA), Inc.
