Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) in a long-term care (LTC) facility provides skilled nursing care to residents, ensuring their health, comfort, and well-being. RNs oversee patient care plans, administer treatments, monitor for changes in condition, and collaborate with healthcare teams to provide high-quality, resident-centered care. They also play a key role in supervising nursing staff, educating residents and families, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
Essential Work Functions:
Assess patient or resident health, monitor for changes, and take appropriate action to ensure their well-being
Develop, update, and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the patient care team
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Observe residents for any medication reactions or changes in condition and report concerns to the healthcare provider
Provide treatments including wound care, IV therapy, catheter management, and other skilled procedures within scope of practice
Supervise and support LPNs and CNAs, delegating appropriately and ensuring residents receive quality care
Educate residents and families on medications, treatments, and managing chronic conditions
Document care provided, resident progress, and any health changes in a timely manner
Respond quickly to emergencies, delivering critical care and coordinating with medical teams when needed
Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Adhere to facility safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail

Job Summary:
The Clinical Research Nurse is a primary point of contact for study participants, the Primary Investigator (PI), the Clinical Study Manager (CSM), and Department Managers in all study conduct and/or participant-related matters on the clinical research unit floor.
Essential Functions
Performs conduct procedures in strict compliance to the study protocol, Good Clinical Practice standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), QA/QC procedures, OSHA guidelines and other state and local regulations as applicable
Oversees and monitors the well-being and safety of study participants by active assessment as well as by serving as a visible point of contact at all times
Facilitates verbal directions from the Principal Investigator (PI) to study participants and/or clinical study staff and ensures appropriate follow-through
Assists the PI with the review of laboratory data results for both the selection and randomization of study participants and for the monitoring of safety parameters while study conduct is ongoing
Provides ongoing assessment of the study subject/patient to identify Adverse Events (AEs), ensures proper documentation and reporting of all AEs, including follow up of open AEs when subjects are not in-house, and provides any appropriate clinical care or instructions to subjects, as directed by the PI or as deemed medically necessary by their professional judgment
Continuously communicates the progress of study conduct to PI, CSM, and members of the clinical study team through various methods of communication
Immediately notifies the PI, CSM, and members of the clinic management team upon the occurrence or reporting of a Serious Adverse Event (SAE) by a study participant and initiates documentation of the event
Enforces rules and regulations with study participants and handles participant complaints efficiently and effectively, maintaining participant satisfaction
Maintains compliant, clear and accurate study charts and documentation of all AEs reported and Concomitant Medication usage throughout the study
In the absence of the Clinical Study Manager, performs as the floor leader and mentor, assisting research technicians, clinical research nurses, clinical research paramedics, and laboratory technicians as needed on the conduct floor
Demonstrates professionalism and provides leadership to the various members of the clinical study team
Administers study medication according to study protocol, demonstrates thorough understanding of study medications, and administers concomitant medication as directed by the PI and maintains accurate and timely documentation of the process
Coordinates with the scheduling department to ensure coverage of clinical conduct activities
Works with CSM and Training Manager to provide protocol training to the clinical study team, as well as to communicate on-the-spot performance direction and feedback as needed
Oversees the completion of all End of Study or Early Termination activities by study participants, inclusive of follow up for the close-out of any outstanding items (i.e. AEs, physical exams, lab repeats, etc.) after subjects have been discharged from the clinic
Provides administrative and operational support to ensure successful conduct of study protocols
Qualifications:
Education A nursing degree and in-state licensure is required.
Experience
One to two (1-2) years of experience in a clinical research environment
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific experience listed above.
Certification/Licensure Advanced Life Support (ALS) required

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
To become a Commissioned Officer in the Nurse Corps, qualifications include:
U.S. Citizen between the ages of 18 and 41
Currently licensed and practicingnursing in the U.S. (new graduates must obtain a license within one year of beginning Active Duty service)
In good standing (as a student or graduate) with a CCNE-accredited U.S. education program granting a
Bachelor of Science degree
General qualifications may vary depending upon whether youre currently serving, whether youve served before or whether youve never served before.
PART-TIME OPPORTUNITIES
There are part-time opportunities as a Reserve Navy Nurse. Serving part-time as a Navy Reserve Nurse, your duties will be carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Nurse Corps Officers in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes.

Administer general and regional anesthesia, monitor patients receiving anesthesia and assist in

Graduate Students
If youre a graduate student enrolled in a postgraduate nursing program in certain nursing specialties and opting to serve part-time as a Reserve Officer, you may qualify for up to $50,000 in nursing school loan repayment assistance.
PracticingNurses
If youre a practicingnurse opting to serve part-time as a Reserve Officer, you may qualify for an immediate, one-time sign-on bonus of up to $30,000. And depending on your specialty, you may have the option of choosing between a sign-on bonus, nursing school loan repayment assistance or specialty pay.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Nurse Corps Officers may serve at any one of more than 250 Navy and medical facilities around the globe, from Hawaii to Japan, Germany to Guam and Washington, D.C., to Washington state. As a Navy Nurse, you could work at one of the highly acclaimed National Naval Medical Centers in Bethesda, MD, Portsmouth, VA or San Diego, CA. Or you could provide medical support aboard one of two dedicated hospital shipsthe USNS Comfort and USNS Mercy. Additional opportunities are available on surface ships, with aircraft squadrons or even with the Fleet Marine Force.
