Job Description Surgical Technologist II Starting Rate: $44/hr (based on experience) Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM Dean's Professional Services is actively seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist II to join our team in Houston, TX. This position is responsible for preparing and maintaining the operating room, anticipating surgical needs, and supporting surgeons and clinical staff to ensure safe and efficient procedures. Responsibilities Prepare the operating room and necessary equipment based on patient age, procedure type, and surgical requirements. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and maintain a sterile field at all times. Ensure correct counts of sponges, needles, and instruments per policy. Properly label and handle surgical specimens. Inspect, clean, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment according to policy. Set up and organize back tables, instruments, and medications according to procedure type. Follow sterile technique and instrument handling policies consistently. Participate in ongoing education and professional development. Qualifications Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program (required) - may include equivalent military training. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT (required). Minimum 3-5 years of surgical technologist experience, including two or more surgical specialties. Demonstrated experience in scrubbing obstetric, gynecology, robotic, laparoscopic, and open cases. Strong understanding of sterile technique, equipment maintenance, and instrument processing.
