Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Aimee Uen, senior vice president and chief financial officer, has nearly 20 years of financial experience, including 10 years of leadership in LMU’s Finance Division, where she served most recently as vice president for finance and controller. She assumed her responsibilities on June 1, 2021.

Uen’s fiscal leadership has been vital to maintaining LMU’s strong financial position throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated economic challenges, positioning the institution to emerge more competitive. Her business acumen, paired with the prowess for driving operational efficiencies, process improvements, and technology solutions has enabled the university to adjust quickly to the new dynamics of a virtual and remote educational environment.

As vice president for finance and controller, Uen partnered on several transformational projects to enhance LMU’s institutional effectiveness and outcomes orientation. She is currently co-leading the implementation of an enterprise software solution that reimagines mission-critical business processes and service delivery models that are essential to the university’s operations.

Prior to joining LMU, SVP Uen was an assurance manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in Los Angeles. She earned her B.A. in business economics, with an emphasis in accounting and a minor in Asian American Studies, from UC Santa Barbara.

Devra Schwartz is an Assistant Chief of Emergency Management and Administration at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) and is based in United States.

John M. Parrish

Chief of Staff and Special Assistant To The President

John M. Parrish serves as chief of staff and special assistant to the president. In this capacity, he helps plan, evaluate and execute presidential projects and initiatives; oversees the university’s strategic planning process; serves as liaison to internal and external constituents on matters of interest to the president; provides counsel, support, and advice to the president; and helps implement the president's decisions and directives.

Parrish joined LMU in 2006 as an assistant professor of political science, and was promoted to associate professor in 2009 and professor in 2014. He has served as president of the Faculty Senate, director of the University Honors Program, chair of the Department of Political Science, Senior Vice President Fellow, Ignatian Colleagues Program Fellow, and special assistant to the provost for the Playa Vista Initiative. In 2015 he received the John R. Popiden Distinguished Service award for his contributions to the LMU community.

He earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in political science from Harvard University and his M.Phil. from the University of Cambridge, England. He earned his bachelor's degree magna cum laude from William Jewell College. Prior to LMU, Parrish was assistant professor of political science at The Ohio State University and a fellow at the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University. Parrish is a native of Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Parrish is co-author of "The Decline of Mercy in Public Life" (Cambridge University Press, 2014) and author of "Paradoxes of Political Ethics: From Dirty Hands to the Invisible Hand" (Cambridge University Press, 2007), as well as numerous edited volumes, journal articles, and book chapters. Parrish teaches courses in political ethics, political rhetoric, and the history of political thought.

Lynne B. Scarboro

Lynne B. Scarboro was appointed the university's inaugural executive vice president and chief administrative officer on January 1, 2017 (announcement). In her role, Scarboro and her teams are responsible for the administrative areas and resources that serve the core operating needs of the university, including: auxiliary and business services, finance and accounting, compliance with land-use issues, information technology, human resources, facilities management and construction, public safety, parking and transportation, and conference and event services. Previously, Scarboro served as senior vice president for administration since 2002.

Scarboro holds a B.S. degree from North Carolina State University and an M.B.A. from Winthrop University. Prior to joining LMU in 2002, she served for seven years as associate vice president and chief operating officer for the Office of Alumni and University Relations at Georgetown University. Prior to Georgetown, Scarboro worked at both North Carolina State University and the University of Virginia.

Scarboro formally served on the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles and is a member of the Organization of Women Executives in Los Angeles.
