Performs a variety of tasks related to the implementation and maintenance of the behavioral management program for nonhuman primates and other laboratory animal species as directed by the Behavioral Management Program Manager. The Clinical Protocol technician assists with the daily operations of several research studies, including clinical trials, under the supervision of a Project Manager or Study Coordinator. Key responsibilities include assisting with recruitment and screening activities, conducting recruitment phone calls and chart reviews for prescreening, scheduling visits, and assisting with the conduct of study-related patient visits. The Clinical Protocol Technician for Trauma Research in the Department of Surgery will be responsible for assisting Investigators with enrolling patients in emergency clinical trials. The Clinical Protocol Technician will screen and enroll patients as they arrive to the Trauma Center under Exception from Informed Consent (EFIC). Additional responsibilities include data collection and entry, processing of blood samples, administering pre or post-enrollment informed consent to subject and/or legally authorized representative, informing patients and/or their legally authorized representative of the patient's enrollment into an emergency clinical trial via Exception from Informed Consent (EFIC).
