Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring flexibility between L&D and Mother Baby units and night shift availability.
Responsibilities
Hospital setting with 18 LDRP beds, 4 triage beds, and 2 ORs
Must flex between Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby units as needed
12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday required
Level 1 OB unit with a Level 1 Nursery
Ratios are typically 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
Annual delivery volume of approximately 650 cases
Support staff includes secretary, OB tech, and LPNs based on census
Uses Epic EHR, Obix for fetal tracings, and GE fetal monitoring equipment
C-Section circulating and recovery required; scrubbing experience is a bonus but not required
Provider coverage includes 24/7 in-house OBGYN and CRNA, with neonatal nurse practitioners and pediatricians
Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation in L&D and Mother Baby settings
Participate in triage, prioritization, stabilization, resuscitation, and emergency management for maternal and neonatal patients
Scrubs are provided on the unit
Manager interview required as part of the hiring process
A 50-mile radius rule applies for eligibility
Role includes direct collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team and regular patient/family education
First day EKG test must be passed for continued employment
Local candidates accepted (local rate applies)
Requirements
Active OH or Compact RN license required
Current BLS certification required prior to patient care
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred upon hire, must obtain within 6 months
One year of RN experience required
Recent OB, ED, or critical care experience preferred
Must pass a pass/fail EKG exam on first day (two attempts provided)
Familiarity with Epic EHR preferred
