LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech Company is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Cloud Tech Support Specialist. The candidate will support FAA development tenants with the integration, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud environments, ensuring operational efficiency, system reliability, and compliance with FAA standards. This role bridges operations and development teams by automating workflows, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing solutions to enhance continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using modern DevOps tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Terraform, and Ansible. This position requires a shifted daily schedule to end at 8:00PM Eastern time.
Job Duties & Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):
Provide DevOps support for FAA applications and systems, including deployment, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or similar automation tools.
Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible to automate provisioning, configuration, and environment management.
Support version control and code management practices using GitLab and GitHub.
Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues, application errors, and infrastructure outages in cloud and hybrid environments.
Respond to service desk tickets related to technical cloud support, providing troubleshooting and resolution in a timely manner.
Assist with containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent technologies.
Work closely with system engineers, developers, and cybersecurity teams to resolve technical issues and maintain compliance with security requirements.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system configuration, support runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for infrastructure, automation tools, and development environments.
Qualifications:
Required: A successful candidate will have
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 2 years supporting cloud security and network operations.
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Demonstrated experience in network configuration, firewall administration, and Palo Alto firewall support.
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust.
Experience with troubleshooting cloud and network environments and providing Tier 2/Tier 3 technical support.
Ability to respond to and resolve service desk tickets in a timely manner.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred:
Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Palo Alto Networks Certified Security Engineer (PCNSE), AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, CCSP, or CISSP.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with POA&Ms, iRAT testing, and security documentation.
Strong understanding of firewall rule design, packet flow troubleshooting, and secure network architecture.
Previous experience in a federal or aviation-related IT security environment

Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Datadog for cloud performance and security monitoring.
Support secure web gateway and zero-trust access through Zscaler.

Support secure connectivity and configuration for hybrid cloud environments, including routing, subnets, and access controls.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Job Duties & Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):

Defines and implements infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, and related automation tools.

Ensures all architectures are compliant with federal security policies, FAA standards, and NIST frameworks.
Directs the integration of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins) into FAA development environments.
Designs and manages enterprise network architectures, including IPv6 adoption, IP address allocation and management, and firewall policy implementation.
Provides security engineering support, including configuration and integration of Palo Alto firewalls and network security appliances.
Implements and optimizes observability and monitoring solutions such as Datadog to ensure availability, performance, and reliability of FAA systems.
Performs system trade studies, risk assessments, and performance evaluations to inform decision-making.
Implements cloud security, networking (IPv4/IPv6), firewall engineering (Palo Alto), and IP address allocation.
Qualifications
Required: A successful candidate will have
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline. Master's degree preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of systems engineering experience, with at least 5 years in cloud architecture or cloud engineering roles.
Demonstrated expertise with at least one major cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience with automation and orchestration frameworks (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
Proficiency in cloud security, networking (IPv4/IPv6), firewall engineering (Palo Alto), and IP address allocation.
Experience implementing federal IT security compliance requirements (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST).
Experience with observability/monitoring platforms (Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus).

Mentor and guide junior engineers, ensuring knowledge transfer and capability development within FAA technical teams.

Required Qualifications
10+ years of progressive systems engineering experience, including at least 5 years focused on cloud security architecture and engineering.
Strong knowledge of NIST risk management framework, FedRAMP, FISMA, Zero Trust, and federal cybersecurity standards.

The selected candidate will be responsible for design, development, modification, and evaluation of complex Air-to-Ground (A/G) radio, voice switch, voice control systems (VCS), voice recording and protocol conversion systems used to provide operational Air Traffic Control (ATC) communications. The candidate will be instrumental in system engineering and advanced research and development associated with designing products during pre-delivery design, integration, and acceptance. Products principally involved are digital radio and voice systems installed in FAA facilities that are equipped with IP technology to enable voice and data communication over a secure network (VoIP), which will enable air-ground communications between pilots and air traffic controllers in facilities across the U.S.
Duties will include technical responsibility for planning and executing technical programs, projects, or phases of projects to include customer interface, requirements development, design reviews, and technical interchanges, and all aspects of prototype/product system design, development, demonstration, evaluation, installation, acceptance, and O&M support.

LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech Company and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking a highly skilled Technology Specialist (Second Shift) to serve as a DevOps Tech Support. The candidate will support FAA development tenants with the integration, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud environments, ensuring operational efficiency, system reliability, and compliance with FAA standards. This role bridges operations and development teams by automating workflows, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing solutions to enhance continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using modern DevOps tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Terraform, and Ansible.
Responsibilities
* Provide DevOps support for FAA applications and systems, including deployment, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
* Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or similar automation tools.
* Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible to automate provisioning, configuration, and environment management.
* Support version control and code management practices using GitLab and GitHub.
* Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues, application errors, and infrastructure outages in cloud and hybrid environments.
* Respond to service desk tickets related to technical cloud support, providing troubleshooting and resolution in a timely manner.
* Assist with containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent technologies.
* Work closely with system engineers, developers, and cybersecurity teams to resolve technical issues and maintain compliance with security requirements.
* Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system configuration, support runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
* Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for infrastructure, automation tools, and development environments.

Qualifications
* 3-5 years of experience in technology support, DevOps, or System Administration roles
* Proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows server administration.
* Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related DevOps toolchains.
* Strong experience with GitLab and GitHub for source control, branching strategies, and CI/CD automation.
* Practical experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
* Strong troubleshooting skills with scripting abilities in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
* Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, load balancing).
* Ability to write and maintain system documentation.
* Experience supporting federal government IT environments.
Preferred
* AWS Certified SysOps Administrator / DevOps Engineer
* Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
* HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
* Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
* CompTIA Security+ (for baseline cybersecurity compliance)
Education
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Extended Computer Use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.

* Mobility: Ability to move around the office environment to access computer hardware, networking equipment, and server rooms.
* Dexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks requiring precision.

Compensation (Pay Bands)
Salary at LST is determined by a wide array of factors, such as (but not limited to) education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws.
