Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities Include:
Perform repairs to customer vehicles and trailers
Perform basic welding functions
Inform customer/manager of completion times, services expenses, and possible changes
Monitor the profit/loss of each job to maximize profitability while maintaining the highest standards of quality; minimize warranty claims and re-work
Submit work orders for invoicing
Maintain inventory and supplies
Prepare list of required replacement parts

Successful Diesel Mechanic Candidates Will Have:
Two years of diesel mechanic (truck) experience within the heavy-duty industry
Automotive Service Excellence certification appropriate to the job or equivalent

Inspect tread depth, air pressure, and carcass for defects, for every tire that comes through, and recommend corrective action
For vehicles:
Inspect vehicles using inspection forms and report potential repairs to supervisor
Perform basic maintenance and repair, including oil changes, chassis lubrication, filter and fluid inspection and replacement, and other light mechanical items and repairs
Raise and lower vehicles safely, with hydraulic or floor jacks
Safely operate all shop machinery, including but not limited to: rim clamp machine, balancer, floor jacks or lifts, air powered tools, torque wrench and/or torque sticks, and parts washer
Read work orders thoroughly and perform all listed tasks
Perform general housekeeping duties.
Help to load/unload delivery trucks.
Each morning, set up tire racks, signs and other displays; store them neatly at the end of the day.
Perform other duties, from time to time, as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Description
The Lube and Tire Technician at Monro or General Service Tech as we call it, is an entry level Automotive Technician position and a great way to start your career at Monro. Starting day 1 you will begin a comprehensive mechanic training program, covering all aspects of your new role. As a General Service Technician, you will be an essential team member, performing maintenance services on Guest vehicles. Responsibilities
Providing excellent customer service at the front shop when assigned
Mechanic duties include changing, mounting, and installing tires

Basic automotive maintenance work such as battery installation
We will train you to do alignments, brake services, and scheduled maintenance services

· Cleaning any grease or residue left from service on guest vehicles prior to delivery
· Staying current in manufacturer fundamental training and vehicle updates

You will be responsible for responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical damage of vehicles while ensuring safety and quality to ensure timely delivery of repaired vehicles. Additional responsibilities include performing light-heavy maintenance and service work.
Your Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
· Analyze, diagnose, and evaluate damaged vehicles to determine repair or service needs and potential replacement of parts.
· Responsible for the maintenance of shop vehicles.
· Responsible for assisting other Technicians on the diagnosis of difficult or abnormal repairs or services.
· Accurately estimate costs for repairs, maintenance and service required.
· Perform advanced, basic and minor repairs as required - brake and hydraulic, exhaust, engine and transmission, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension and alignment, restraints and airbags, air conditioning and computer systems.
· Inspects and tests all mechanical repairs to meet manufacturers' specifications. Road test vehicles when required.
· Communicate with production team to keep all vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery.
You will need to have:
High School diploma/GED required. Auto mechanic vocational graduate required.
5+ years of automobile or automotive mechanical/electrical diagnosis, problem solving and repair experience in related industry required
ASE certification required.
Experience diagnosing problems - mechanical, repairing, rebuilding and overhauling mechanical, electrical, electronic and/or hydraulic systems in a wide variety of automotive vehicles.
Knowledge using manufacturers' service and repair manuals.
Highly organized, able to prioritize multiple concurrent assignments.

The Lube and Tire Technician at Monro or General Service Tech as we call it, is an entry level Automotive Technician position and a great way to start your career at Monro. We are looking for a LUBE TECHNICIAN to help us drive business at our Marion Buick GMC facility. We are proud to say we have a training program to develop our lube technicians to flat rate technicians. Job Responsibilities:
Evaluate guests needs and provide exceptional guest service
Ensure that interior protective floormats and seat covers are installed in guest vehicles
Safely maneuver guest vehicles in and out of quick lane service bays
Safely lift vehicles using manufacturer recommended lift points
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Perform basic vehicle maintenance: changing engine oil and filter, quick testing batteries, topping off fluids, replacing air filters, cabin filters, wipers, setting tire pressures, rotating and balancing of tires, mounting and dismounting of tires, patch plug tires, light bulb installation, and lubing of steering and suspension components
Torque wheels to proper manufacturer specifications and reset tire pressure monitoring sensors
Perform accurate and effective Multi point vehicle inspections using provided inspection tools making upsell recommendations based on failed inspection items or dealer/manufacturer recommended service intervals
Reset oil life monitoring system in guest vehicles
Install accurate service reminder stickers in driver side upper corner of guest vehicle windshields
Cleaning any grease or residue left from service on guest vehicles prior to delivery
Staying current in manufacturer fundamental training and vehicle updates
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
Clean driving record & valid driver's license required
Basic set of tools including air impact gun
Ability to work in a fast paced environment efficiently
Ability to follow processes and take direction
Must be punctual and be able to work Saturday
Must be able to lift and move up to 75lbs
Withstand being on your feet for up to 10hrs on concrete daily
Must be able to work in a non airconditioned environment
