Transdev in Hamden is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Diesel Technician to join our team. The Lead Diesel Technician will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of our diesel technician team, ensuring the timely and efficient diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of diesel vehicles and equipment. Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and prioritize the workload of the diesel technician team, assigning tasks and ensuring that all work is completed in a timely manner.
Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues in diesel vehicles and equipment.
Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels to support maintenance and repair activities while minimizing waste and excess inventory.
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
Coach and monitor members of the work team.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel technician, with demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related systems.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.

Diesel Mechanic Position Summary:
This position is required to safely and accurately perform general property and vehicle maintenance & repair duties in and around the shop operations in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and understanding basic preventative maintenance and repair techniques of Class 5 through Class 8 commercial vehicles to include tank trailer inspection and maintenance related to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations is required.
Diesel Mechanic Essential Functions:

Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in dealership protocols.
Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so customers can be informed if additional service is needed.
Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Qualifications
ASE certifications are ideal

He/she communicates with customers, educating them on necessary preventive vehicle maintenance. Additional duties may include courtesy services, and tire repair and replacement services.Responsibilities
Performing upper bay and lower bay oil change and inspection functions
Explaining SpeeDee programs, services and pricing structure in order to achieve high customer satisfaction and increased revenues
Attending training sessions that are applicable to the career path and position requirements
Performing preventive maintenance on fluid services equipment
Following appropriate safety procedures and notifying the Shop Manager of safety hazards or needed equipment repairs
Requirements

Clean and neat appearance
Valid state driver's license
Other Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn addition to the duties listed above, every crew member is responsible for general center maintenance and cleaning duties such as mopping, washing center windows and clearing litter. Crew members must attend crew meetings as required, as well as other duties assigned by a supervisor.Job Qualifications

Working Conditions
Materials and Equipment used: Automotive oils, fluids, and lubricants. Windshield washer fluid, battery electrolyte
Environment: Frequent exposure to outside weather elements, noise, and vehicle exhaust fumes throughout the entire shift.
Physical Activities: Position requires good corrected vision, hearing, frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, handling, reaching, and lifting.

Lia Honda Brewster is seeking an A/A+ level Automotive Technician to join our team. If you're an experienced technician looking for a fast-paced, professional, and positive environment that rewards hard-working, reliable, and team-oriented individuals, this is the right place for you! Lia service departments are equipped with the latest technologies & equipment including service drive alignment checker, alignment rack, and Hunter tire mounting and balancing machines. Sign on bonus may be available based on skill level and experience.
COMPENSATION RANGE: $70K-$110K+
SIGN ON BONUS: Available up to $3000 based on experience and certification(s)
REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years of Service Technician experience required
Must have experience working in a dealership
Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair experience required
State Inspection certification required
ASE Certification recommended
Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
Ability to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures and specifications
Computer skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Must have clean & valid driver's license
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership processes
Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed, providing an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs.
Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
