Key Responsibilities: Diagnose transmission problems using diagnostic tools and test equipment. Remove, disassemble, inspect, and reassemble transmissions. Repair or replace faulty components (e.g., clutches, gears, seals, torque converters). Perform transmission fluid flushes and maintenance services. Work on both automatic and manual transmissions (including CVTs and DCTs). Road test vehicles to ensure proper repair and function. Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used. Collaborate with service advisors and other technicians to provide excellent customer service. Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations. Qualifications: 3+ years of experience as a transmission technician or similar role. Certification from ASE or other recognized automotive training programs preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and service software. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Preferred Experience: Working with specific brands (e.g., GM, Ford, Dodge, Jeep, Toyota). Familiarity with electronic transmission control systems. Experience with performance or high-output transmission builds. Work Environment: Full-time, typically in a dealership, repair shop, or transmission specialty center. Physical work requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
