Automotive Service Technician
The Service Technician troubleshoots and repairs customer vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
Performs work specified on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with manufacturer/dealership standards so that the vehicle is fixed right the first time.
Inspects vehicles and records findings in case additional repairs need to be made.
Explains vehicle diagnoses and required repairs to customers and/or Service Advisors in a clear, non-technical manner.
Stays abreast of new technical information and technology by attending required/recommended manufacturer training.
Core Requirements
Prior experience and/or education as an automotive technician, dealership experience or Subaru certifications a Plus.
Experience using shop equipment (i.e., diagnostic equipment, alignment equipment, etc.)
Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record (per our insurance companys standards.)
Desire to provide a high level of customer service.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check

Perform tasks in a timely and efficient manner, while being attentive to machine operation and potential problems.
Requirements:
Applicant must have the physical ability to work 8-10 hours on your feet. Lifting and carrying 50 pounds routinely and occasionally 75-100 pounds.
Stooping, bending, climbing, twisting are just some of the physical requirements needed along with lifting.
2-3 years lubrication maintenance in an industrial facility preferred but will consider training individuals with good work history and mechanical aptitude. Other types of related work experience will be considered.

Must be able to maintain an organized daily schedule and keep a tidy workspace.

Receive and perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards; document work performed
Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform needed repairs
Communicate with various staff regarding parts, additional/removed work, and deadline constraints
Save and tag parts that are needed for warranty
Attend factory training programs and video and/or internet training in-house as requested

Automotive Service Technician Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicles and test automotive systems and components
Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using devises such as motor analyzers, handheld computers and chassis charts to determine how to address problems
