About the Role:
The Sr. Field Mechanic with MYR Group you'll travel to project sites across the designated service area, supporting our field teams. You'll use your skills to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor equipment repairs safely and professionally. Location Details:This position will ideally be located in Troutdale, OR.
Travel Details: This position requires travel throughout Northern California, Oregon, and Washington states, (including overnight) to project locations, supporting teams to ensure successful operation of the equipment. At times, the Mechanic will be required to respond to emergencies outside regular work hours and work overtime including weekends and holidays. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided. When travel is required, meals and lodging will also be provided.

Essential Functions
Perform mechanic assignments using independent judgment to make decisions requiring the application of procedures and practices to specific work situations
Perform a full range of servicing and repairs on various types of fleet equipment, including malfunctioning parts and systems. Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and company schedules
Frequently travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of equipment. Must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
May provide oversight for less experienced mechanics
Perform routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs
Identify mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment
Maintain records of time and materials used on each job, the condition of the equipment, and the repairs performed
Track information in computer software; ensure repair orders and weekly timesheets are complete and accurate
Conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation
Work in accordance with DOT, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Interstate Authority, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and other rules and regulations as required
Participate in training programs; maintain and update safety skills and knowledge; keep current with hazardous material training requirements
Other duties as assigned

About You:
Qualifications
Must have five years of experience in general heavy truck repair, automotive repair, or equipment repair; equivalent trade school/technical school time may be applied toward this requirement OR have completed a vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in vehicle and equipment repair and have four years of experience.
Must be capable of operating company vehicles and equipment on a daily basis. Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and good DAC Report.
A valid Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) is desired but not required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred.
Basic computer knowledge. Cummins and MX software experience preferred.

Service training will be made available for technicians, with the Service Manager having the final input on types of training and who will attend. Technicians receiving the training are expected to share their knowledge with the other technicians.
Assist other technicians on large repairs or projects.

Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic tests and inspections to identify vehicle issues and determine necessary repairs for Audi vehicles.
Repair and replace faulty components, including engine, transmission, suspension, electrical systems, brakes, and other Audi-specific parts.
Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements in accordance with Audi manufacturer guidelines.
Utilize specialized diagnostic equipment and software to accurately diagnose complex issues and provide effective solutions.
Keep accurate records of all repairs, maintenance tasks, and parts used.
Collaborate with service advisors to provide detailed explanations and estimates to customers regarding necessary repairs.
Stay updated on the latest Audi technology, tools, and repair techniques through ongoing training and professional development.
Ensure all work is performed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
2 years of experience as a Service Technician or similar position in a dealership environment

The
Automotive Technician
is responsible for effectively and efficiently diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles while adhering to the MAP guidelines and in accordance with dealership, manufacturers, and Sun Auto standards.
COMPENSATION: up to 150K per year - varies upon experience (Hourly + Flag)
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnoses vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
Performs work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
Explains technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include the Store Manager, Service Consultants and/or customers.
Recommends services that are necessary to keep the customers vehicle in running condition; properly documents all recommendations in customer file.
Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
Maintains appropriate ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.

In the mechanics role, whether part-time or full-time, you can expect a flexible schedule from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
YOUR DAY
As a Transmission Technician, your day begins with a thorough review of the vehicles scheduled for service. You start by diagnosing transmission issues-using a combination of visual inspections, diagnostic tools, and test drives to pinpoint the problem. Once identified, you get to work repairing or replacing faulty components such as gears, clutches, seals, or electronic sensors. Between repairs, you handle routine maintenance tasks like fluid changes, filter replacements, and necessary adjustments to keep transmissions running smoothly. Each day brings a new challenge, and your expertise ensures every vehicle leaves the shop operating at peak performance.

$25 - $45 an hour flat rate pay range, based on certifications and experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnose transmission issues using Ford factory tools (IDS, FDRS, etc.)
Repair or rebuild automatic, manual, and CVT transmissions
Perform transmission replacement and fluid services
Road test vehicles to confirm repairs
Reprogram or calibrate transmission control modules (TCMs) as needed
Assist with other vehicle repairs (engine, breaks, suspension, drivetrain)
Accurately complete repair documentation and work orders

QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of transmission repair experience (Ford experience prefered)
Proficient with Ford diagnostic tools and systems
