Short Description
Our Ottawa Manufacturing team is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineering Technician to support our 3rd shift production team.
Shift Schedule is 8pm-6:30am Monday through Thursday night.
$36.75 per hour
3rd Shift premium: $1.00 per hour
Your responsibilities will include
* Establish process parameters, create standardized work, train standardized work, and improve standardized work for Upright and Backshop processes.
* Lead process optimization, root cause analysis, and capacity increases.
* Facilitate projects and teach / mentor / train shop floor teams in lean strategies and concepts.
* Provide day-to-day support to the Upright and Backshop set ups, engineering team, and operations leadership, including problem-solving, cost estimates, standard costs, labor and process flow / layouts.
* Provide project management for implementing improvements to new and existing equipment.
* Work cross functionally with other teams, including maintenance and tooling personnel, to drive solutions to equipment related problems.
Minimum requirements

+ Design, purchase, and implement packaging for each part used within the plant.
+ Abide by all Whirlpool packaging standards spelled out in the Whirlpool Packaging Manual.
+ Work with New Model Planning and external materials teams on new parts or changing parts that will be introduced to the plant.

* General work including conduit runs, terminal box locations, conduit supports, wire lengths and wire sizes.
* Make up proper length electrical wiring cables, bundles, labels and assemblies of connectors.
* Wire simple and complex machines.
* Diagnosis of electrical systems (distribution, processes and machines), in 480 volt systems, both single and polyphase, Accontrol systems, communications and sound systems, DC systems and high voltage distribution and switch gear.
* Find errors and/or omissions on wiring diagrams and reports them to supervision or engineering.
* Electronic power controls including logic, digital, solid state and integrated circuitry programmable controllers and keep updated on the latest generation of solid state equipment
* Complete installation, servicing, and repair of electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
* Diagnose and adjust full modulating mixture adjustments, flame safety equipment, all associated equipment for fossil fuels
* Service and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems including air logic
* Complete repair of electrical systems of lift truck operation
* Required to make productive maintenance inspections and repairs
* Make adjustments to program parameters
* Comfortable working with a variety of automation hardware and software platforms
* Work effectively with your peers to share knowledge and leverage strengths
* Utilize excellent communication and documentation skills to transfer critical process and support knowledge to others
* Put priority on one's safety and those around you.
* Support WCM pillars/activities as directed
Minimum requirements
* Electrician Journeyman's card
* In place of Journeyman's card
* Associate's degree in technical studies
* 5 years of electrical experience
* Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Able to read electrical schematics
* Knowledge of programmable controllers
* Hands-on experience with low voltage (480V and below) electrical applications
* Basic experience with the following automation disciplines PLC Programming / HMI Development / Variable Frequency Drives / Motion Control / Industrial Networks / Sensors
* Basic use of Google Suite and the Google Drive
* Able to temporarily adjust work schedule to accommodate training/projects needs.
* Able to work overtime as needed.
