Job Description At CIH, we believe nutrition plays a vital role in healing and recovery. Our Dietary Services team supports patient care by preparing and serving well-balanced, nutritious meals with care and attention. Whether working behind the scenes in the kitchen or delivering meals to patient rooms, they play an essential role in the hospital experience. We're a small hospital with a big heart, and we're looking for a dedicated Food Service Worker to help us make a difference-one tray at a time.
The Food Service Worker supports daily kitchen operations including meal prep, tray assembly, dishwashing, and sanitation. This role ensures patients, staff, and visitors receive meals that meet dietary guidelines and safety standards. You'll work closely with our dietary staff to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient food service environment.

Essential Functions
Labels and dates foods to be stored.
Sets up place setting accurately and neatly.
Cleans work area according to directions and daily cleaning schedule.
Operates dish-machine, garbage disposal and keeps area clean. Reports any malfunctioning of equipment to maintenance department.
Wash pots and pans using approved sanitizer.
Transport and store supplies and food.
Keeps food and supply inventory.
Under direct supervision, may prep fruits and vegetables as directed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, not required.
Follow safety standards concerning cleaning products.
Stands and walks most of the working day.
Protects patients rights and confidentiality of information.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
SERV Safe Certified
Experience
Food service, preferably in a health care setting but not required
Pre-Employment Requirements
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and health clearance which includes a physical exam, TB testing, and immunization review.
