Lumber associate job description

$17.50 an hour

1st shift only! 6am-2pm M-F with some Saturdays

Responsibilities

Set up equipment and material to assemble product

Understand the design provided for production

Perform repetitive line assembly operations

Manually fit and size products by utilizing various tools

Meet production quotas Maintain quality assembly

Keep accurate inventory counts Adhere to safety requirements.

Requirements:

You MUST have your own vehicle.

Candidates are required to supply their own 24 oz. hammer.

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

Knowledge and expertise in the use of a variety of tools Ability to do repetitious work

Must be able to work at a fast pace Ability to work in a team environment

Physical Requirements: Stand for up to 8 hours per day Lift up to 100 lbs. regularly without assistance

Stooping and bending at the waist

Occasional kneeling and crawling

Pushing and pulling items of various weights and sizes multiple times daily.

Equipment Used: Banding Machine Cutting Saws Various power, air and hand tools

Schedule: Mon-Fri: 8:30 AM-5:00 PM

Wage: $17.00 per hour

How You Will Spend Your Days as a Yard/Forklift Rep Associate:

• Stocking all material received in appropriate bins or storage locations.
• Building loads and loading trucks for outbound delivery.
• Safely loading lumber and building materials into storage facilities.

Yard Laborer Requirements:

• Experience. Construction or Building material supplies preferred but not required, we are willing to train the right candidates
• Physical. Ability to stand for 8-10+ hour work shifts
• Heavy Lifting. Ability to lift up to 75lbs consistently and bend, twist, squat and reach throughout work shift

How you will spend your day as a Lumber Yard Associate:

• Operate a chainsaw to cut lumber.
• Maintain inventory by labeling and placing materials and supplies in stock.
• Assist in moving product throughout the yard/warehouse with forklift or by hand and picking orders.
• Assist with Inventory Control in counting and organizing materials.
• Assist with restocking of materials.
• Assist with deliveries as needed.
• Loading and unloading of Shelly's trucks and vendor trucks.
• Keep staging areas clean and organized.

Lumber Yard Associate Requirements:

• Knowledge. Ability to operate a chainsaw. (We will train you) Heavy machinery or forklift experience (Preferred).
• Physical. Ability to stand for 8+ hours per work shift. Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach.
• Heavy Lifting. Ability to lift to 50-75lbs throughout the work shift.
• Teamwork. Ability to work as a team and help motivate others.
• Excellence. Must have an excellent work ethic.
