Rejects from other industries find a home here. As long as management stays out of the way of the people doing the work - stuff gets done and shipped. When management feels like they need to be useful and start micro-managing the pros who know what they're doing - everything turns to cr*p, and time is wasted on non-productive 'initiatives'. Meanwhile the real problems that require thought and understanding are ignored. Since management is not capable of understanding such things - they simply are not important. People in the c-suite think they're the smartest bunch of folks because they learned how to use Excel and Powerpoint. In fact they are clueless - and simply gum-up the works when they start interfering. excepting a few talented individuals, management (& HR) is rife with incompetence and toxicity..
