Summary:
This position is responsible for handling full cases of product (that can weigh up to 50 pounds), lifting cartons and merchandise onto and off conveyor lines, pallets or other storage containers. Within this role, you will spend at minimum, 50% of your working hours lifting cartons and merchandise. It is an expectation of this job to be open to learning the skills of equipment operation, depending on the location and department you are hired to. It requires steady, fast-paced work to maintain case quantities for picking operations and to help palletize outbound products.
Shift Schedule: M-F 2:30pm-10:30pm
Responsibilities
Comprehend and follow written and verbal direction.
Use basic math skills to verify quantities, make adjustments, fill out worksheets and complete order paperwork accurately.
Operate Warehouse Management System (WMS), Radio Frequency (RF) Scanners, and other equipment needed to perform job duties.
Attention to detail, ability to follow directions and apply problem solving skills.
Ability to identify product and match numbers.
Ability to operate motorized and non-motorized equipment to move merchandise.
Inspect merchandise items to ensure accurate quality and brand specifications.
Maintain and verify documentation and information to facilitate flow of merchandise through the distribution center.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Previous experience in a distribution center environment useful.
Must maintain flexibility regarding job assignments, including other departments, brands, locations, and required overtime.
Meet productivity standards after successfully completing training.
Must be able to work well with others.
Ensure a safe work environment by following all safety, hazardous material and OSHA training, rules, and reporting.
Standing or walking for the duration of the shift is necessary; sitting for extended periods during the shift may not be possible.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and assist in all areas, including but not limited to:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more up to 50% of the working hours; lifting may be above or below shoulder level - and above or below waist level.

Role Overview
The Material Handler role is a hands-on individual contributor responsible for hour-by-hour
execution of material identification, separation, and packaging activities. The goal of this
position is not only the effective movement of material but to keep the warehouse well
organized.

Key Responsibilities
Create a safe and secure work environment using safety procedures and processes.
Participate in safety continuous improvement projects. Ensure the work area and warehouse are well organized and clean. This may require periodic extra movements of material to re-organize and streamline.
Responsible for weekly inventory control of waste products such as cardboard, skids, drums, and product such as gaylords, skids and drums. Will inform leadership when truck for delivery is needed & when order for materials is needed.
Responsible for cardboard bailing and making of gaylord boxes for teams and delivering to their area when needed.
Organization of mezzanines and removal/loading scrap products. Responsible for the organization of all mezzanines and secondary storage areas including stagingof drums and pails to be taken down as required.
Loading of all scrap trucks.
Responsible for moving material from the mixed dry pallet racks, in order of FIFO from the appropriate.
Responsible for packaging and removing any finalized material and loading it to a finalized material pallet location.
Responsible for taking away all empty boxes, FRL boxes, filled collection units and any order movement of material and supplies out of the sort area to prevent delay or stoppage of operations. From time to time the material handlers may be asked to support shipping and receiving in the movement of materials and other related tasks.
Responsible for supporting inventory cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy in the area.
