About our group: Join our team to develop real-time monitoring software for AFM probe wear, directly supporting high-resolution imaging in advanced materials research. Intern will work closely with a mentor and cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to both software engineering and experimental science. About the role - you will: * Collaborate with engineers to identify measurable parameters for AFM tip wear. * Develop and test software modules for real-time data acquisition and analysis. * Implement user notifications for probe degradation. * Validate algorithms using experimental AFM data. * Document code and technical findings. * Present progress in team meetings. * Participate in code reviews and brainstorming sessions. About you: Programming experience (Python, C++, or similar). Familiarity with data analysis and scientific software development. Interest in AFM, nanotechnology, or instrumentation. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Your experience includes: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field and must be enrolled in a U.S. university for Fall 2026 classes.
