Job Summary: This position requires a willingness to float between multiple programs or services, occasionally more than once per day. This position will participate as a team member that fosters an environment that supports people in pursuit of their hopes, dreams, and personal outcomes - creating a lifelong home for the people supported. You will partner with Behavioral Analysts, Autism Specialists, Therapists, and medical professionals. This position will develop and implement support plans and work directly with individuals supported to address any situations that may arise and ensure the safety of the people supported, team members, and the public. Qualifications and Requirements: High school degree, GED, or experience working with vulnerable populations required. Experience and/or training of at least two years with individuals with dual diagnoses who display physical and verbal aggression. Comprehension of current MN statutes 245D and positive behavior supports preferred. Medication administration training required (may be obtained after hire). First Aid training required, and CPR certificate may be required (may be obtained after hire). Mental Health certification or credentialed as a Mental Health Practitioner preferred. Background study (BGS) clearance is required. Driver's license required. Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record required. Ability to read, write, and use computer required. Basic math and problem-solving skills required. Ability to recognize boundaries and relate to a wide variety of people. Ability to suggest and implement strategies to enhance the service. Possess patience, self-control, self-direction, flexibility, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and the ability to comply with support plans consistently. Knowledge of local community resources. Flexibility with adjustments to the schedule and locations. We developed Intensive Community Residential Services (ICRS) in response to a need in our community for more options for individuals with complex needs. Job Summary: Positive Support Specialists (PSS) work in our ICRS programs. These are highly specialized programs in which we serve individuals with intensive medical, behavioral and mental health needs. We utilize a person-centered approach to creating a program that focuses on supporting people to reach their goals, while still considering the safety of the individual, team members and the community. Consistency and routine are key factors in the proven success of these programs. Highly trained Positive Support Specialists will assist individuals both at home and the community to participate in events and activities that are meaningful to the individual.     LSS is dedicated to providing community-based services in the most integrated setting possible. We developed Intensive Community Residential Services (ICRS) in response to a need in our community for more options for individuals with complex needs. Job Summary: Positive Support Specialists (PSS) work in our ICRS programs. These are highly specialized programs in which we serve individuals with intensive medical, behavioral and mental health needs. We utilize a person-centered approach to creating a program that focuses on supporting people to reach their goals, while still considering the safety of the individual, team members and the community. Consistency and routine are key factors in the proven success of these programs. Highly trained Positive Support Specialists will assist individuals both at home and the community to participate in events and activities that are meaningful to the individual. As a PSS team member, you will also: Assist individuals to be more independent in performing essential life skills such as meal preparation, personal hygiene and navigating the community. Advocate for the people supported in areas such as rights, medical care and in the community. Complete necessary documentation and record-keeping every shift. Manage crisis situations safely and effectively - this can include potential use of manual restraints. Candidates will receive training for Positive Behavioral Supports and manual restraints in conjunction with the 245D requirements. Engage in trauma-informed care daily. Must be cleared by a Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) background study and have a driver's license - a Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) is also required. Qualifications: Minimum education is a high school diploma, but the preference is a degree in a field relevant to this role.     Pay: * $21/hour This position requires a willingness to float between multiple programs or services, occasionally more than once per day. This position will participate as a team member that fosters an environment that supports people in pursuit of their hopes, dreams, and personal outcomes - creating a lifelong home for the people supported. You will partner with Behavioral Analysts, Autism Specialists, Therapists, and medical professionals. This position will develop and implement support plans and work directly with individuals supported to address any situations that may arise and ensure the safety of the people supported, team members, and the public. Qualifications and Requirements: * High school degree, GED, or experience working with vulnerable populations required. * Experience and/or training of at least two years with individuals with dual diagnoses who display physical and verbal aggression. * Comprehension of current MN statutes 245D and positive behavior supports preferred. * Medication administration training required (may be obtained after hire). * First Aid training required, and CPR certificate may be required (may be obtained after hire). * Mental Health certification or credentialed as a Mental Health Practitioner preferred. * Background study (BGS) clearance is required. * Driver's license required. * Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record required. * Ability to read, write, and use computer required. * Basic math and problem-solving skills required. * Ability to recognize boundaries and relate to a wide variety of people. * Ability to suggest and implement strategies to enhance the service. * Possess patience, self-control, self-direction, flexibility, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and the ability to comply with support plans consistently. * Knowledge of local community resources. * Flexibility with adjustments to the schedule and locations.
