Provide instructional support in core academic and vocational subjects to students; prepare and may develop age- and grade-appropriate instructional aids and exercises to support the subject matter being taught.

Assist with daily screening for weapons, banned substances, and paraphernalia; escort students going from one location to another; monitor student activity in and between classroom, lunchroom, restrooms, and recreational areas throughout the school day, including dismissal time; monitor classroom activities during brief absence of a teacher.
Observe, monitor, and redirect the behavior of students within approved procedures; reinforce behavior modification techniques determined by the teacher; develop and use incentives as positive reinforcement; document behavioral incidents and report them to site supervisor; participate in consultations with parents and staff on behavioral interventions for students; use appropriate discipline in accordance with school safety plan, school rules, and teacher's assessment.

This is a full-time, tenure track Physical Therapy Assistantinstructor position in the Health and Wellness Academic and Career Community. Under the direction of the Dean, the assignment will provide a full professional service week throughout the 196-day academic calendar. This assignment is for the Fontana campus. It is possible that the person in this position will also be responsible for teaching classes at the Rancho Cucamonga and Chino campuses.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Associate's degree from an accredited institution AND six (6) years of related experience; OR
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution AND two (2) years of related experience; OR
* Possession of a valid California Community College credential authorizing service as an instructor in Physical Therapy Assisting; OR
* The equivalent (equivalency questions are included in the Faculty Application for Employment); AND
* Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in a community college environment.
PROGRAM SPECIFIC REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Active, unencumbered Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in any U.S. jurisdiction, in compliance with the California practice act.
* Master's degree or higher in physical therapy, health sciences, education, or a related field.
* Minimum of five (5) years of full-time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical experience, including at least three (3) years of direct patient care.
* Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Clinical Instructor (CI) and/or Site Coordinator of Clinical Education (SCCE) or in teaching, curriculum development, and administration within a PTA education program.
* Strong communication, organizational, and professional judgment skills appropriate for academic and clinical education leadership.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Based upon the minimum and/or desirable qualifications stated in this position announcement, the initial salary placement range is $91,216 (minimum qualifications) to $132,571 (doctorate) (Fall 2025 salary schedule). Placement is based on the regular full-time faculty salary schedule and is dependent upon verification of relevant experience and coursework from a regional or nationally accredited institution of higher learning.
Being able and ready to work onsite at a Chaffey facility or location is an essential function of this job. APPOINTMENT DATE AND ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The need for part-time faculty is greatest in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term begins in the late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term runs from the middle of January through the end of May. On rare occasions part-time faculty are needed during one of the Summer Session segments.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments. And in some instances, syllabi, assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
APPOINTMENT AND SALARY
All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only.
Classification Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month
The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. For a three-unit assignment, typical starting compensation ranges from $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester.
