Pricing Profitability Sr Mgr
The Decision Science & Modeling team under Pricing & Profitability Analytics is formed to enhance day-to-day pricing optimization activities across Consumer Lending and Deposit products by developing data driven statistical models and advanced quantitative analytics. The role requires a strong combination of strategic thinking, quantitative analytics, and financial acumen, combined with the proven ability to partner with and influence senior leaders, product managers, and other analytics professionals.
The candidate must possess a deep understanding of consumer banking with a specific emphasis on loan and/or deposit pricing coupled with experience analyzing large datasets, developing statistical models, and supporting implementation of modern, data-driven price optimization tools. The successful candidate will have a passion to drive growth in the business through the delivery of advanced analytics and actionable insights.
Primary responsibilities include:
Partner with line of business pricing managers and product teams on the development of pricing strategy to achieve business growth objectives and maximize line of business risk-adjusted returns
Lead the development of statistical models to predict pricing elasticity, customer behavior (i.e., loan application conversion, funding, utilization, and account attrition), and other pricing-driven customer behavior or performance measures
Manage the discussion and communication with the model expert panel made up of subject expert from business line, finance, and risk management teams
Lead discussion with the validation team; respond to questions during the model review process and ensure model approval
Support/manage the business technical and risk governance needs through the full lifecycle of the model, including model implementation, performance monitoring, ongoing maintenance, and internal and regulatory reviews
Partner with Product Strategy and Pricing teams on profitability model enhancements and optimization methodology/process by incorporating data-driven insights
Work with external vendors on price optimization modeling projects
Serve as subject matter expert across business lines in area of pricing and optimization analytics and modeling
5+ years of work experience in statistical modeling, data mining, pricing optimization and quantitative analysis
Proven experience in predictive modeling (pricing elasticity or customer behavior) preferably in financial, retail or database marketing businesses.
Demonstrated ability to solve business problems utilizing statistical modeling and methods, including experimental design, PCA analysis, cluster analysis, decision tree, linear and non-linear modeling, and machine learning.
Proficient with data processing, analyzing and modeling using major tool/software/language (e.g., SQL, R, Python, SAS, etc.)
Experience with and solid understanding to bank’s lending product a big plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to convey actionable and understandable business intelligence
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks working in a team environment
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel and Power Point)
Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials
