Job DescriptionSalary: Primary Function: As a skilled tradesman, lays pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water lines. Responsible for performing any combination of the following tasks: grade trenches or culverts, position pipe, or connect/seal pipe joints. Responsibilities: Use/Hold grade rods. Cut pipes to required lengths. Cut metal components for installation. Align and position pipes. Connect pipe and seal joints. Cover pipe with earth or other materials. Spread sand, dirt or other loose materials onto surfaces. Install or repair sanitary or stormwater concrete manhole structures and pipe systems. Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools. Compact materials to create level bases. Laying pipe 4-60 to grade. Operate mechanized equipment such as backhoes and/or forklifts (forklifts require formal certification) to move materials from stockpiles to area of installation, Operate mechanized equipment to backfill pipe trenches, such hand tamps and rollers. Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools. Work with trench boxes. Rigging and signaling. Performs additional assignments as directed by management or as required for successful project completion. Adhere with M. B. Kahns Safety Program, OSHA guidelines and Company policies, procedures, and standards Required Skills/Abilities: A pipe layer must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

Oversees and coordinates the total construction effort in a wide range of building projects by personal performance or through supervision of superintendents and subordinate personnel. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without special accommodations. • Studies plans and specifications for construction on the basis of start and completion times, staffing requirements and timely procurement of tools, materials and equipment to conform to work schedules for each phase of construction. • Attends or conducts all preconstruction, job site and update meetings and inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to the plans and specifications and quality and is meeting construction schedules. • Directs the set up of the site job office and equipment trailers; with proper permits, labor notices, EEOC and safety rules and regulations being posted in a conspicuous place. • Directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting plans and specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to maintain the current budget and schedule, while insuring all safety and quality standards are met. • Confers with supervisory personnel and contractors to resolve complaints and grievances within work force. • Confers with company management, designers, subcontractors and inspectors and suppliers of tools, equipment and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods. • Prepares, keeps current or reviews reports on progress and materials used, and performs two week ‘look a heads' to ensure proper planning and adjustment and execution of work schedules. • Ensures that all change orders are properly executed and indicated on ‘as-built' plans. • Conducts ‘Punch Out' process throughout and at conclusion of project. • Mentors, trains and develops support personnel. • Ensure all required regulatory inspections are obtained and passed in a timely manner. • Ensures general conditions budget is met. • Directs and ensures that all OSHA regulations and safety policies and procedures are followed and necessary safety equipment is on site; safety meetings are adequately attended by company personnel and subcontractor crews; daily site safety walks are conducted and corrective action is taken; and that good housekeeping practices are observed and maintained by company personnel and subcontractors. • Maintains good relationships with project managers, owners, engineers, inspectors, architects, subcontractors and other key stakeholders. • Other duties may be assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Manages 1-10 subordinate supervisors and subcontractors who supervise a total of up to 100 employees on the jobsite. Is responsible for their overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all processes. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Primary Function: Responsible for overseeing and maintaining all aspects of project safety. Ensure compliance with M. B. Kahn safety standards and OSHA regulations across multiple jobsites. Responsibilities: Assist in the development of the project specific safety program(s) and implement the Corporate Safety Program Standards as outlined in the Safety Manual. Rotate between multiple jobsites to provide consistent safety leadership. Exercise authority to immediately stop any violation or unsafe practice. Investigate all accidents/incidents, generate proper reports and immediately notify the Corporate Safety team of any such accident/incident. Ensure compliance with hazard communication regulations and ensure SDS catalogs are immediately available, complete and up to date. PRIMARY FUNCTION: Classifies, records, verifies and maintains numerical and other data for use in maintaining financial records, and provides financial support to other departments throughout the company. The Internal Auditor independently and objectively plans, reviews and evaluates the project control activities and processes relating to DPR Construction's multi-million-dollar commercial construction projects.
