This role involves operating powder coating equipment to apply high-quality finishes to various parts, while maintaining strict quality standards and adhering to production schedules. The ideal candidate will ensure consistent coating coverage, perform equipment maintenance, and maintain a clean, safe work environment. The Saw Operator is responsible for operating air and hydraulic table saws to cut extruded metal to the required lengths according to work tickets. This position requires attention to detail, quality inspection, and the ability to maintain pace with the extrusion press while ensuring proper material handling. We're seeking a reliable second-shift Catcher, Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you'll operate the Plastics/Wallbase Grinder, handle materials, transport products, and support other operators as needed. You'll work with recycling processes and maintain quality standards while assisting throughout the production floor. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work professionally with all team members. Responsibilities: * Receive verbal directions from others regarding duties to be performed. * Remove metal debris from scraps with oil-cutting liquid. * Operate Plastics/Wallbase Grinder. * Knowledge of materials to keep separate in the grinding process. * Transport raw materials and finished products with a hand truck and hand cart between processing and storage locations within the department and to the finished goods storage area. Remove scrap vinyl and other materials to designated areas for recycling or disposal. * Assist other areas of manufacturing by relieving an operation. It may involve making minor adjustments to stops, obtaining raw material, adjusting guides as needed to maintain sizes and shapes, activating machine controls for starting and stopping, checking finished products for proper color, shape, size, length, and similar requirements, and making minor corrective adjustments to produce acceptable products. Inform the supervisor or regular operator of any abnormal situations. * Assist other department personnel in dismantling setups, obtaining and returning tooling to and from storage, positioning tooling, and helping operators verify the size of processed parts as required. Minimum qualifications: * Fill in on other jobs with equal or less difficulty when needed. * Help with cleaning up. * Must be able to interact with employees professionally at all times. * Must be able to use and read a tape measure. * Must be able to stand for a minimum of ten hours. * Must be able to carry, lift, or push work-in-progress, which could weigh up to 50 pounds. * Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing) are necessary to perform job functions. * Basic writing skills are required to complete daily production records. * Basic verbal communication skills are required to transfer or interpret problem explanations and to receive and understand work assignments. * Good motor skills (hand/eye coordination) are necessary for the efficient operation of this job. * A thorough visual inspection is required to evaluate the visual quality of vinyl.
